I grew up going to my family summer home in Bridgehampton (the town over from Sag Harbor) for the past 30 years but wanted a change of scenery for a weekend so searched for a home for a few friends to stay at for a weekend in June. I did a lot of research & stopped by several homes to meet their owners, take a look around, and I instantly loved this home.
From the outside you can see the landscaping is perfect and the home is adorable. You instantly feel the "Hamptons vibe" - beautiful antique/ralph lauren looking décor, large eat in kitchen, great natural light, etc. The rooms are decorated very nice and everything is immaculate. The backyard has a BBQ, built in pool (which was sparkling), a hammock, several lawn chairs & beautiful stepping stones.
Everyone knows LOCATION is key when looking for a home...especially in The Hamptons. Sag Harbor is the perfect location because it is in the middle of The Hamptons & conveniently located. The town is perfect for all ages and has many options. You can grab a drink at Harlow while watching the beautiful yachts & listening to Raggae music, walk around town & browse the great shops, grab a bagel at Bagel Buoy and relax near The Harbor, take your kids for burgers at LT Burger, grab a cup of coffee at Sagtown Coffee or listen to fun music at Buddha Berry while filling up your Frozen Yogurt cup (this frozen yougurt place is so great Andy Cohen speaks about it in his Diaries). And the great thing is you can walk to all of these places from this house!! The house is in 10 - 15 minute walk to the heart of town. Additionally, if you want to check out other towns they are only minutes away. Bridgehampton (8 minute drive away), East Hampton (15 minute drive away), Southampton (20 minute drive away). the options are endless. There is a public beach in Bridgehampton that you do not need passes or a parking sticker for (just pay attention to the signs and where you park!).
We were a group of professionals in our 30's and we spent time in Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton and East Hampton when we weren't relaxing at the beautiful house. Really, there isn't a reason to leave the house but if you want to there are so many options. Oh, also... the kitchen in the house is fabulous. There is a great island counter, large refrigerator, etc. We had plenty of counter space to prepare delicious snacks and cocktails for our summer day!
As a native to the area, I know the options and this is a true charm!!!
