Perfect calm

We enjoyed a relaxing week at Lynn's home. The setting is beautiful and private, with views of water from almost every window. It feels like a comfortable home, not just a rental. Lynn is a very responsive and accommodative host.

The Perfect Home for Peace & Tranquility

After the last 6 months of craziness, my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a week at the beach. I had never booked a home through VRBO & wasn't entirely sure what to expect. My expectations were far exceeded! This house is on a quiet street with pond water views from both sides (with swans!) & is a quick 3 mins drive from the main street of Sag Harbor. Also very close to the ferry to Shelter Island. The house is very nicely decorated and feels homey. The kitchen is stocked and well appointed with anything that you would need to cook and serve. The bedrooms are comfortable & the master shower was amazing. To be honest though, we spent most of our time outside on the glorious outdoor deck. It's surrounded by flowers- with lots of places to sit & relax. I already miss the pool. There is something about the quiet and stillness out there that makes this house special. From start to finish dealing with Lynn & Roger was a complete delight. They were totally accessible and available and gave us great reccommendations on beaches and restaurants. Overall a great experience. I can't wait to go back again next year!

Tranquil perfection

I have rented many lovely homes throughout the Hamptons and the North Fork and yet there was something magical about Lynn and Roger's home that surpassed all of my previous experiences and provided the most restorative vacation for my family. For starters, its magnificent, private, natural setting, with unrivaled views, both front and back, of ponds, reeds and wildlife, offered the perfect escape from the pandemic. With multiple porches, upstairs and below, from which to enjoy this beauty, a whole family could still find seclusion. We feasted on sightings of swans, yellow finches, egrets, wild turtles and turkeys. The heated salt-water pool, larger than most, was heavenly. Inside, the house offered casual, comfortable elegance, with beautiful artwork and added features like the glorious upstairs shower, with plenty of room to spread out on rainy days and a well-stocked kitchen for family meals. As an added bonus, the charming town of Sag Harbor is a short, convenient distance away. I must also mention that Lynn and Roger were extremely generous, reliable, accommodating hosts. Everything about our interactions were straightforward and reassuring. Our only regret was having to leave.

Escape for the Summer in soft salt water breezes

Another fantastic and breathtaking stay for us. Feel the breeze, watch the sunset and bathe in the salt water pool. Marvel at the Osprey and Egrets as they perform and soar above pond. There’s no reason to leave the grounds unless you perhaps forgot the wine. We’ll be sure and stay for the third time shortly. Brian

Perfect Memorial Day Weekend

We spent a terrific holiday weekend at Lynn's beautiful home. The setting and beautifully landscaped yard and pool made for a perfect place to soak up the first rays of summer! The house itself was spacious, clean and filled with natural light. We especially enjoyed the location which is the perfect blend of privacy and proximity to town. Lynn was lovely throughout the rental process -- accommodating and always very responsive. We look forward to coming back soon!

Convenient, comfortable, lovely

This home was perfect for a long weekend with family. The views of water on both side of the home were special and made us feel so very "on vacation" right away. The home is up to date, the kitchen great to cook in, and the lay out conducive to all the activities you'd hope for- eating as a group, rekaxing and talking on the couches, or watching a movie in the den. As far as leaving the house, you're quite close to charming Sag Harbor, as well as several beaches. All in all, just what we'd hoped for.

wonderful family reunion in gracious home

Our family was excited about the promise of a rental described as a luxury home just outside the village of Sag Harbor. The home lived up to expectations. It is a contemporary home, with an interesting and open layout, wonderfully decorated, and with lots of places for us to gather and enjoy each others' company for a birthday weekend. The home has pond views in front and rear. The views are completely relaxing and the home takes maximum advantage of them, with lots of light and air circulating. The home was clean. All of our contacts with the owner were timely and clear. Sadly, the autumn weather was not conducive to much time outside, but the decks and pool must be fabulous in warmer weather. Our family did enjoy outdoor sports, from running to paddle boarding, and those options were close at hand and a big part of the attraction for us. We love Sag Harbor, and we have already recommended this property to another family member.

Fabulous House in North Haven

I LOVED this home and property--beautiful and comfortable designer home featuring gorgeous views of ponds in the front and backyards. Wonderful decking off the main floor and off the master bedroom featuring the same views. We loved swimming in the refreshing pool (no need to heat it in August). Perfect location- 5 minutes from town of Sag Harbor but in a quiet and picturesque street. Owners of the home were eager to make us happy and were a pleasure to deal with. Also, owners promptly returned full security deposit. Many of our guests asked if the house was for sale. In fact, I too would be happy to own this house if I wasn't building a home of my own.

Spectacular vacation rental!

This is a fantastic house just minutes outside of Sag Harbor....very comfortable interior, wonderful large living room, kitchen and dining areas, all the amenities you could want from a vacation home, water views on both sides of the house, fantastic pool and backyard with a very large multi-level deck perfect for outdoor meals or relaxing in the sun. We have stayed here three years in a row and cannot wait for our next trip back. The owner is a pleasure to work with as well.

One of a Kind

Hidden Gem!

We greatly enjoyed our month here. The listing description was very accurate, so there were no surprises. The house was comfortable and nicely laid out, well-screened to allow ample cross-ventilation throughout, and the one problem we anticipated -- having to share the one upstairs bathroom between the master and our son's bedrooms -- never really materialized. But the backyard was the real selling point, with a gorgeous pond view beyond a willow tree that can only be described as idyllic and that is equally accessible from a terrace overlook outside the upstairs master. Good closet space. Great location -- three minutes' drive over the Memorial Bridge from Sag Village. Also a short walk down a pretty, tree-lined street from a local beach -- perfect for an early-morning or end-of-day stroll. Very quiet. And equally important, the owners are a dream: could not have been more pleasant, thoughtful and accommodating (whoever heard of being afforded complimentary use of a car with beach pass?) -- a distinct and welcomed change from so many Hamptons experiences! Only negatives: a few rather tired appliances, which we understand have been fully refurbished. So if you're seeking a simple, pretty, well-located and hassle-free Sag Harbor experience, this is worth a serious look.

We are an active, semi-retired couple who have worked in book publishing all of our lives. We split our time between our charming Manhattan co-op off Central Park and our beautiful water view home in Sag Harbor, NY which we have owned for many years. We are passionate about theater, film, food, books, kayaking, birdwatching, biking and of course travel. While we have rented our home occasionally for quite a few years, we also enjoy it ourselves much of the time so it feels like a stylish and vibrant home rather than an impersonal rental property.
