Wonderful Stay

A beautiful property in the middle of a quiet village! After a delayed flight and late arrival they patiently guided us to Askoutsi. We did not expect to find it so spacious with everything you would need and so beautifully renovated. Even juices, sandwich supplies and fruits waiting for us. Valia was wonderful and accommodated any of our needs or questions. Her goodbye surprise of delicious mizithra sweet rolls was so thoughtful! We especially enjoyed meals and the quiet nights of stars and goat bells in the beautiful courtyard, and the hot tub. The only drawback for us was the super firm mattresses that were harder than we prefer, but adding a blanket underneath us helped. We enjoyed the nearby bakery, access to many wineries, Knossos and ancient ruins. Make sure to walk around the village to see the beauty and simplicity of life. We wish we could’ve stayed longer, and will definitely book more time here next visit! The drive south to Plakias has stunning scenery and is a perfect beach town with a meal by the water at Alianthos cafe. Free sun beds and umbrellas are adjacent to enjoy the beautiful beach and Libyan Sea. So much to see and a week was too short. This place is a gem! Thank you Valia, loved our stay!!

Fantastique séjour

Très belle résidence spacieuse et accueil fantastique. Le jaccuzzi dans la cour est appréciable mieux qu’une piscine. Je recommande vivement. A savoir qu’il n’y a pas de commerce ou de restaurant dans le village. Mais cela n’est pas génant si on conduit bien.

We wanted to experience Crete's culture. You really cannot do that when you stay in a hotel with 500 or your favorite friends!! This Villa is located about 30 minutes from Rethymno. Nestled in the foothills surrounded by olive orchards at about 1100 feet above sea level. We were there for 18 days. We discovered a Taverna (Mina's) in Garazo about 15 minutes away. The owners MADE our stay! Genuine Cretan food and hospitality.

Mehr als man erwarten kann…

Charmantes renoviertes Herrenhaus mit Stil. Gastgeberin Katherina empfing uns außergewöhnlich gastfreundlich und versorgte uns auch während unseres Aufenthaltes äußerst großzügig. Die Fotos zum Ferienhaus halten, was sie versprechen. In punkto Sauberkeit und Service kann das Haus mit jedem 5 Sterne Hotel mithalten. Ein großes Dankeschön hierfür an Flora.Touristen sind hier Mangelware - die Bewohner des Ortes sind sehr freundlich - also genau der richtige Ort um abzuschalten und entschleunigen. Den Urlaub (14Tage) hier haben wir überaus genossen. Wir kommen gerne hierhin zurück.

Une villa superbe et un accueil exceptionnel

Nous avons passé une semaine fin septembre 2021 (7 adultes) à l’Astouski Manor. La villa est très belle, spacieuse et très bien équipée (seul regret, l’absence de lave-vaisselle) L’accueil est extraordinaire, cadeaux de bienvenue ... et de départ! Nous avons même été invités à une fête de famille. Merci à Katerina et Dimitri.

Urlaub zwischen Bauernhof und Badestrand

Das modernisierte, geräumige Villa mit gemauerten Rundögen und Holzdecken ist stilvoll eingerichtet. Es ist etwas abgelegen und nur mit Mietwagen zu erreichen, jedoch ideal um einen erholsamen Abend, nach einem schönen Ausflugstag zu verbringen. Wir wurden herzlich aufgenommen und haben starke Unterstützung erhalten, als unser Gepäck am Flughafen verloren ging. Top!

magnifique villa au calme sur les hauteurs

La villa est pleine de charme et très spacieuse (partis à 8 personnes, 2 couples avec enfants). A l'écart des foules et de la chaleur de la côte, mais avec toutes les commodités à 15min en descendant vers les plages qui sont à 25/30min. Celles de Bali, de Panormo et notre préférée, Spilies beach, chacune a son charme. Le village est authentique, entouré part les montagnes. Des balades sont à faire directement depuis la maison et de nombreux sites touristiques sont à moins d'1h de route. Le patio est un havre de paix avec son jacuzzi. Merci à Katerina pour son accueil chaleureux et toutes ses attentions, et à sa maman qui est d'une grande gentillesse. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les quelques provisions en arrivant et les œufs frais, les légumes de son potager et l'huile d'olive de sa production tout au long de notre séjour! L'indépendance d'un gîte avec la qualité de service d'une maison d'hôte! Pour tous ceux qui recherchent la Crète authentique et loin des hôtels surpeuplés, je ne peux que conseiller la villa Askoutsi, qui nous a offert de merveilleuses vacances

Perfect stay

Accommodation is very clean and perfect for bigger group or families. Location is a little hard to get to but if you have a car, I think there is no problem. Ít has everything you need and a whirpool is the best.

This place was amazing. Katerina and neighbors were very welcoming and gracious.

This home was in a quaint village, away from busy cities/tourist spots. It reminded me of wonderful childhood memories spending summers in my parents villages. I got to give my city kids the same sense of freedom and adventure my summers in Greece did for me.

Gemütliche Wohlfühloase am Rande der Berge

Die grosszügige Villa liegt in einem kleinen Dorf am Rande des Gebirges. Die Gastgeberin Katerina und ihr Sohn empfangen ihre Gäste sehr herzlich und sind jederzeit für jegliches Anliegen erreichbar. Die Mutter der Gastgeberin, welche im Nachbarhaus wohnt, ist eine sehr warme und herzensgute Person, die man einfach gerne hat. Die Villa bietet mehr, als was man braucht. Sie ist sehr liebevoll renoviert und ist sehr gross. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass Einkaufsgelegenheiten erst nach einer Autofahrt von ca. 10 - 15 Minuten erreichbar sind. Dafür ist der Ort sehr ruhig und wenig befahren. Für Wanderer ist er ein guter Ausgangsort. Für alle Bemühungen danken wir Katerina und ihrer Familie. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Herzlich und luxeriös

Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir mit kulinarischen Leckereien begrüßt plus herzlichster Umarmung. Die Villa hält, was die Fotos versprechen. Und auch, wenn wir kaum ein Wort Griechisch können und die Nachbarn kein Englisch, haben wir uns alle mit Händen und Füßen und einem breiten Lächeln bestens verstanden. Wer einen authentischen Griechenlandurlaub sucht, wird ihn hier finden. Herzlichkeit, Gastfreundschaft, herrliches Wetter, ein gmütliches Haus mit wunderbarem Blick in die Berge und vieles mehr.

Fantastic Villa in a peaceful location

Nous avons passé 2 semaines formidables dans le petit village de montagne d'Agios Ioannis. Le Manoir est magnifique, tout à fait conforme au descriptif et aux photos. Il est spacieux, très agréable à vivre et très propre. L'environnement est paisible, vous êtes dans les montagnes, entourés par les oliviers. La propiétaire Katerina, ainsi que son adorable maman qui vit à proximité, ont été d'une grande gentillesse, très accueillantes et généreuses. Katerina nous a reçu à notre arrivée avec un délicieux et copieux repas Crétois, elle a été attentionée tout au long de notre séjour. De même, Valia nous a beaucoup aidé, notamment en nous conseillant sur les activités et les visites à faire. Et il y a beaucoup à faire et à voir! En 15 jours, nous avons visité le Nord de la Crète d'Héraklion, en passant par Rethymno (la vieille ville, le Fort et le vieux port sont exceptionnels) jusqu'à l'île de Gramvoussa et le lagon de Balos (magnifique, à faire absolument!) Nous avons également visité les sites archéologiques et les villages dans les montagnes environnants. La plage la plus proche est celle de Panormo, mais nous avons préféré celle de Bali et sa jolie baie, très agréable. Un grand merci à Katerina, sa maman et à Valia pour ces 2 semaines inoubliables en Crète! We spent 2 great weeks in the little village of Agios Ioannis. Askoutsis Manor is magnificent and is better than in the photos. It is spacious, clean and a lovely place to relax and forget everyday worries. The village is peaceful, surrounded by olive trees with great views of the mountains and valley. The owner Katerina and her mother are very kind and generous and are absolutely adorable. Katerina met us on our arrival, showed us around the villa, explained how everything worked and suggested places to visit. Her mother had even prepared some traditional Cretan food for us which were absolutely delicious. Katerina was very attentive to our needs and was always available by phone. Valia was very helpful and gave great advice on what to do and where to go. The beach, restaurants and shops are all close by in Panormos. Crete is a beautiful place to visit and there is so much to see and do. Must visits are the archeology museum in Heraklion, ancient ruins of Knossos, Rethymno old town and venetian fort, Gramvoussa island and Balos lagoon. We had a brilliant holiday.

demeure superbe et accueil chaleureux

En immersion dans le petit village Agios Loannis, dans une demeure superbe, spacieuse qui correspond absolument au descriptif . L 'accueil est excellent, les propriétaires sont plus que charmants et n'ont pas hésité à nous servir un repas grec à notre arrivée vers 22 heures et nous offrir l'essentiel pour le petit déjeuner du lendemain. On recherchait le mode de vie crétois et la découverte du pays et on a trouvé tout cela dans les environs et plus loin avec des paysages superbes et des petits villages perchés qui semblaient d 'un autre temps. N'hésitez pas si comme nous vous recherchez le confort et la découverte de la vie du peuple Crétois

Live like the locals and enjoy your privacy, peace and quiet and get close to nature! It’s an ideal base for exploration excursions both to mountain sites and the famous sandy beaches of Rethymnon.
