PROS: 1) Wonderful lake, 2) fun on rented boat, 3) excellent location, 4) essentials well stocked, 5) clean.
CONS: 1) House lost power before check in (storm) & we weren’t notified; no electric, no water 2) House is not 2 bedrooms. There are bunk beds in a landing with no door/privacy/sound barrier 3) Lots of bugs: spiders, ants, earwigs, silverfish, aphids, flies, mosquitos, moths. None harmful but A LOT (mid-90s our whole stay & we ran the AC so no open doors/windows) 4) Coffee pot took an hour to make a full pot 5) Stairway has no rail/spindles on open side to living area (safety factor). 6) Living room sectional won’t stay connected, slides around on laminate floor. 7) Upper floor & stairway are creaky (old home) & loud when moving thru bunk sleeping space. 8) Propane grill wouldn’t heat above 350deg. 9) Dock needs daily sprinkler turn on/off to keep away geese.
Stay was tainted by owner’s response to power loss. We moved to a hotel our first night because the house was uninhabitable. Owner offered us to stay an extra night no charge, we proposed a 1-night refund b/c our schedules wouldn’t allow us a longer stay. Got a text two days later that because the outage was ‘weather’/not her fault, she wouldn’t give a refund. Power was out ~10 hours. Unreasonable for a family of 4 (2 elem kids) to stay at a property with no lights or running water - and no working toilet! They proposed flushing #1s with a bucket of lake water....but were warned no #2s!
