Wood Crest Cottage and the various trails through 40 acres of woods, meadows, and pond is a natural sanctuary that provides peaceful seclusion from the noisy world while offering many modern amenities.

A sign at the drive (Wood Crest Cottage) will start you on your drive down the grassy lane to the cottage.

This was the perfect retreat for our boys’ weekend. The property is enormous but walkable and immaculately maintained with a wide variety of things to do and see while remaining secluded in what felt like our own personal state park. The cottage was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed every one of the homemade cookies the hosts left for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and each of us plans to return with other friends and family members.

The pictures do not do this place justice. The cottage is super cute and very secluded. The natural plantings and meadows with the mowed paths make this a nature lovers dream! Highly recommend and look forward to staying here again!

This place exceeded our expectations. It is a Hidden Gem or a Secret garden back in the woods through the corn fields. It's like a whole new world of exploration and beauty. You instantly feel calm and connected to nature here. My family and I felt so at home. We love exploring and there's plenty to explore around here. We did not want to leave.Shelly and Lincoln thought of everything. You can feel the love that they have for this home and the grounds. Will definitely return. *we got home yesterday. The Woods Edge cottage is simply magical. The home itself is beautiful, clean and has everything you could need for a short or long stay. It was just my son and I staying to celebrate his birthday but the home would be comfortable for a larger family as well. The real treat are the grounds. There are so many paths through meadows and woods with little spots to sit. My favorite was having morning coffee in the middle of the meadow and listening to the birds. My Merlin bird app even identified some rare birds that aren't seen as much due to disappearing wetlands. Once you see how much effort Lincoln's family has put into rewilding their property you will understand why it is such a wildlife sanctuary and I feel lucky to have experienced myself. This is my dream to live somewhere like this and I hope more people can enjoy it as well. Also the owners were super responsive although I honestly didn't need anything except to check out their sweet farmstand!

Wood Crest Cottage was an excellent choice for my first visit to Michigan. Morning coffee experiencing nature in the beautiful setting and evening soaks in the hot tub were perfect bookends to days of exploring beaches and the wine trail. The carefully curated grounds, interior and amenities insured a peaceful and relaxing stay. Anyone considering booking this property should not hesitate to choose it.

Beautiful, Relaxing, Wonderful place to stay.

We stayed for just 2 nights but we really enjoyed our time! Loved the trails and scenery! Hot tub was great. We had beautiful 60 degree weather and the hot tub really helped us enjoy our stay. House was stocked! Bed was very comfortable!

Peaceful and private with great amenities

The cottage is adorable and the property is awesome. My teenage boys spend hours each day fishing at the pond. We loved using the fire pit at the pond and spending time on The kayaks. The trails were great. The setting is peaceful and private. The hosts were kind, very communicative and accommodating. Everything was clean and well taken care of, except the outdoor furniture could use some refreshing.

Great Mini Spring Location!

I took my son and his friend to meet my family from Wisconsin as this house was about half way for both of us. The pictures and listing don't do the house justice! We absolutely loved our time, we just wished it was warmer to enjoy hiking the property more, hopefully we can meet there again! Thank you to the wonderful hosts! Ten out of ten!

Get-away Bliss

We loved our stay. We wanted to get away from everything and this place absolutely did that. Loved relaxing in the hot tub each night. It was cute and the paths were great. We also enjoyed meeting the friendly dogs at the farm. Would definitely go back!

Fully Appointed Peaceful Haven

The house itself is wonderfully equipped with anything you would ever need! A delightfully private, peaceful, beautiful property - just a few minutes away from available restaurants and activities (we rented a pontoon at Diamond Lake ten minutes away). Clean as a whistle, which is my #1 requirement at a rental. If you want modern, this may not be for you - it's updated in all the important ways (kitchen/bath) but maintains cottage charm. <3

Hidden Gem

The property was absolutely stunning with plenty of trails to walk, a pond to take the kids out on, and the perfect setup to relax any where. Our hosts were great and clear with communication. They left a few thoughtful goodies and thought of everything including outdoor games. The cottage was clean and even bigger then we expected- it was perfect for our family getaway and I will be reccomending this stay to friends and family.

We have been providing some of the best grassfed organic beef to Southern Michigan, Northern Indiana, and beyond for 30 years and have been told countless times how beautiful the property is. Upon acquisition of a contiguous property with this cottage we endeavored to develop an oasis that would honor that heritage.

The farm has been organic since 1983 and it offers a splendid sanctuary from the noisy world; with its diverse array of wildlife and plants it is a nature lovers oasis. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Wildflower gardens abound. The dark sky experience here will appeal to star gazers and offers excellent satellite tracking . Avid air traffic watchers will find the property is on the flight path of many area and national city's airports. Bird watchers will find many native and migratory birds very plentiful. There is a small but growing library of books related to nature and conservation provided that will include writings of one of the founders of this farm and organic standards (mom).
