Danielle did book two of my cabins. Our cleaning staff cleans and checks the grills prior to guests arriving. They assured me that the grill was working properly and was clean. Danielle asked about using the fire pit the first night they arrived. It was nearly 9:00 PM when she asked about it. I told her that we ask guests the stop using it around 10:00 PM as guests make noise sometimes and all of us with rental places, out of consideration for other guests and neighbors try to keep the noise down after 10:00PM. She said they would use it the next night. It was raining that night and they didn't use it. I did tell them to be careful around the firepit as we have bees here in the mountains. She said a guest got stung with a bee in one of the cabins. We have bees here and there is nothing we can do to keep bees and other insects out of the cabins. Exterminators spray, but that doesn't mean insects do not get into the cabin. The mold she says is in the A/C unit was checked by maintenance and was not mold. I did get upset when she asked for $310. for a refund when her bill was less than $600 and she did not even have let us know prior to checking out that she had issues. We do not have good cell service here in the mountains; however, we do have phones in the cabins for our guests to use. They didn't use our phones just asked for a free or almost free stay. She ended up getting a refund of $200 for a bee sting and a grill that was supposed to not work.

Sorry you were not pleased with our cabin. After you left, I went out to the cabin and checked it. There was no dust on the logs; mattress had 3" fiber filled mattress toppers we had put on the beds within the last 3 months, so I cannot imagine the beds being uncomfortable; and where there is an inside fireplace, there is smoke smell. Most of our guests love that cabin. Wish you would have talked to us about the cabin while you were here. Maybe we could have tried to move you to another one you would have liked better. This is not a normal review for us to get. This is the first weekend after Thanksgiving and we will start decorating for Christmas this week.

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay at our cabin. We ask our guests to let us know if there are any problems with the cabins when they check in. I would have appreciated knowing about these grievances when you checked in so we could have addressed them then, thus ensuring you would have had a pleasant stay at the cabin. We have our cabins cleaned after each guest leaves by professional cleaners. Our staff generally does a great job when it comes to maintaining our facility and preparing the rooms for upcoming guests. It is really hard to believe that there could have been complaints like these. Our sofas are only a couple of months old and I wish you had shown me where the stains are (I can’t find any) so we could have them cleaned. I don’t know what kind of bugs you saw but Orkin monitors our cabins and we have never had cockroaches in any of them. I do apologize if your stay was not up to par in your opinion but it is our aim to provide a clean, comfortable cabin for our guests and if you had let us know we would have taken care of the problems when you came.

I am sorry you thought our cabin was handicapped accessible. We do not list our cabin as handicap accessible. A couple of our cabins do have ramps to allow elderly guests to get their luggage from their vehicles to the porch easier. No where do we advertise we are handicap accessible. You did leave us a list of problems with the cabin. If you had come to the office and told us of your concerns, we would have attempted to correct them. Next time you should alert management upon arrival so they can address any problems.
