What makes this property great is it's especially designed for families with children. The two bunk bedrooms on the ground floor, master bedroom in the loft, the quiet yard with a sandy beach and toys for geared for kids, paddle pontoon, and rowboat, all made it convenient for our family. We didn't really want to venture out much, and the set up here made our staying in much easier.
Extra points for the kitchen. It's really the little things like having a colander, prep knifes, vegetable peeler, blender, etc that made eating-in more comfortable. That may seem small, but when you travel and want to cook at your cottage, having a fully-stocked kitchen is a big plus. Not very many vacation homes I've stayed at think through those details, but the Hidden Gem did. It was also nice to have a gas range. It's so much easier to cook on, and the water cooler was a nice touch.
The location is nice, too. It's like that scene in O Brother, Where Art Thou: "Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity!" It's basically 30-minutes from everywhere (more or less), so when we did venture out, everything was a short trip--Frankfort, TC, Empire, SBD, Leland, etc.
Can't speak for the single couples out there, but as family with small kids, highly recommend the Hidden Gem. Thanks for making the stay so nice.
