Shortly after we arrived at the cottage, we found out we were sharing it with four foxes. Trying to get somebody on the phone to come out took an enormous amount of time. At one point they told me to call animal control and I asked them who is going pay for that. I took videos of the foxes climbing all over the porch, the fence, the grass four foxes in total. After several attempts, finally a man came. I was told there were no reports of foxes on this property. However, this man had been there the week before when a different family was staying there. We were never told they were foxes at the house. We have a dog. The dog could not go out in the yard, sit on the deck, or play down on the water. After the inspection, I continued to call because the foxes is continued to be a problem. At one point, we were told to make noise and they would go away this for the price we were paying. It was a total disruption to our vacation. Along with these distractions the beds were uncomfortable, there was no cable or TV at all, the dishes left a lot to be desired and the outdoor furniture and entryway into the outdoor shower were unacceptable.
The bottom line is we should be compensated for the disruption of our vacation. I will be posting this on Facebook and Yelp as well as on a few other site as a place not to visit. I was really disappointed in the follow up, sense of urgency, as well as the amount of time it took for responses. We should absolutely be compensated for our vacation.
