The location and shared amenities were great—close to the park, amphitheater, and lake beach. The complex had a nice, warm pool and two spacious hot tubs with working jets. The kitchen, bedding, and towels were clean, which we appreciated. However, the unit itself needs serious maintenance and deep cleaning. The carpet was filthy (as noted in older reviews), tiles in the bathroom were broken, and the baseboard heaters and windowsills were extremely dusty. Corners and hard-to-reach areas looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months, if not years. The crank windows (the only form of A/C) were broken and difficult to operate. A note by the thermostat says to use them for cooling—naturally the first thing you see when entering a warm unit—but a conflicting note by the fridge (discovered much later) says not to use them. That messaging should be clearer. The heater in the second bedroom wouldn’t turn off, making it uncomfortable to sleep. A maintenance staff member did come promptly and was kind and genuinely tried to fix it—we appreciated his effort—but the issue wasn’t resolved. There were also some broken lamps, burnt-out bulbs, and exposed sharp metal on a door jamb—a safety concern for families.Overall, we enjoyed the area and some aspects of the stay, but the unit needs more care before we’d recommend it.
