Fabulous time with Captain Chris and Chef Lorrie

Book this catamaran with Captain Chris and Chef Lorrie if you are looking for a relaxing trip with outstanding service. They will customize your trip to your desire. Lorrie's attention to every detail and accommodating to everyone's needs made the trip stress free. Her gourmet meals were five star restaurant quality, amazing! Captain Chris was knowledgeable about the islands we explored and we got to experience the thrill of sailing. Thank you for opportunity to enjoy your catamaran, we had a relaxing & fun adventure. We hope someday we can return to paradise with you.

Amazing Island Week

Chris and Lorrie are awesome! We boarded at the marina and they immediately took us to a beautiful area to swim and relax on our first afternoon, after getting settled in. Lorrie is a wonderful chef and we all gained 5 lbs. during the trip. Every meal was plated beautifully and tasted amazing. They know all the great places to visit for snorkeling and hiking. They also know when the good times are to get into places to beat the crowd. We would highly recommend them to anyone! It was an unforgettable vacation!!

VIVA 2021

Our group of four Covid weary ladies had an amazing week with Lorrie and Chris aboard the Purple Pelican. If you ever have the opportunity to spend some time with them in the US Virgin Islands (or anywhere else for that matter) go for it!! They are laid back and fabulous hosts that can show you the best of their adopted homes in the Caribbean. We are truly missing Lorrie, Chris, and the Purple Pelican!!!

Outstanding

Lorrie and Chris are amazing. They are true professionals, but the service they provide goes so much farther than a Chef or Captain. They made us feel at home and incredibly well cared for, not to mention full of delicious food (and drinks and drinks and more drinks). They’re passion for the Purple Pelican shows and it’s impeccably clean and comfortable. Thank you both so much — you’ve mastered the art of chartering and we’re so grateful for the chance to get to know you. It could not have been better timing. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing and sailing with you again in the future♥️

Adventures in Paradise

When we booked our escape to the islands aboard the Purple Pelican, we looked forward to all that this charter had to offer. What we received was that, and so much more. Waking up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee while gently swaying to the Caribbean waves started each day. Diligent concern to each meal (and each drink) was met with a plethora of activities. From relaxing on the HUGE swim mat to kayaking, snorkeling to quick trips to a beach or town, and exotic hikes or lounging at a lush tropical oasis, Captain Chris and Chef Lorrie offered their home to us. Each day was finished with an opportunity for a glorious sunset and more stars than could be counted. We will be forever grateful for this trip. The Purple Pelican is definitely not an opportunity to be missed!

Ultimate Yacht Charter Vacation

Four of us made the journey to St. Thomas to celebrate my birthday with a week of relaxation. What we got was so much more. The food and drink wasn’t only plentiful but some of the best meals we’ve had. The hospitality of Capt. Chris and Chef Lorrie was simply incredible. Lorrie went out of her way to make our trip a perfect one. She is so attentive and observant to be sure everyone is as comfortable and happy as possible 24 hours a day. The catamaran is appointed very well with new mattresses which were quite comfortable. They have so many options of water equipment/toys available we didn’t have time to try them all. Chris and Lorrie’s knowledge of the area was so welcomed being first time visitors of the USVI. We experienced a lifetime of memories during our time on the Purple Pelican but most importantly we’re ending our trip with new friends in Chris and Lorrie. We can’t wait to get back!

Awesome experience!

We highly recommend booking a sailing trip with Lorrie and Chris. From the moment we stepped aboard they made sure we had everything we needed. The food….it’s amazing! I might have gained 5 pounds:) We enjoyed the boat as well as shore excursions, made great memories and shared lots of laughs. Thanks Purple Pelican, Lorrie, and Chris!

Don’t Miss This Experience!

Wow, what fun we had on The Purple Pelican! Captain Chris and Chef Lorrie have it going on! Awesome hand crafted meals, great accommodations, and beautiful scenery make this one of our top vacay experiences. Captain Chris always made sure we had a great snorkeling spot! Cannot recommend this experience enough! Don’t hesitate, just book it 🐠🏝🌞

Fabuluos Vacation

Our trip aboard the Purple Pelican was was an amazing adventure. Our hosts were kind and helpful and did their best to customize the trip to our preferences in every way. They made sure all went as smooth as can be so that we can really enjoy ourselves and we certainly did. They took very good care of us and were great company to share our adventure with - thank you Lorrie and Chris! We will all cherish our week together with you aboard your Purple Pelican.

Great trip

We really enjoyed our trip. I would recommend it to a friend or family member. I would also do it again. Chris and Lorrie were great, it was the definition of a relaxing trip. The boat was very clean and all our meals were wonderful. Lorrie is such a great chef.

Dream vacation!

Our family loved sailing with Chris and Lorrie! It was literally the perfect trip. They were fantastic hosts for our 5 night sail. Even our 2 teenagers barely picked up their phone. They took us to beautiful bays full of amazing snorkeling, fed us well and were delightful in every way. We didn’t give a lot of specifics because we just wanted to relax and go with their expertise. Lorrie paid attention to every detail and even cooked our fresh catch from a fishing charter! Chris was great at getting us around to all the great bays and shuttling us into town for shopping when we needed a break from the water. Pack light! You really won’t need much to have an awesome trip. We will be booking with them again!

Amazing Catamaran Sailing Getaway

Captain Chris and Lorrie are truly welcoming hosts, all-inclusive, super yummy food and the scenery was breathtaking! A true ultimate yachting experience that is highly recommended! 11 out of 10, 5 ++ stars, can't wait to go back!

Dream Honeymoon!!!!

My new husband and I really wanted the experience of chartering a sailboat for our honeymoon after our wedding in St. Thomas, USVI. We had all but given up on the idea due to the exorbitant costs we were encountering, until one day I was browsing VRBO and saw the Purple Pelican. The first thing I did was start reading the reviews on Chris and Lorrie, and I knew almost immediately this was where we were supposed to be! We booked that night and communications began. Chef Lorrie sent us a detailed questionnaire on our food preferences and I knew we would be in good hands! Before our 4-day, 3-night charter, we also arranged for a half-day sail for 12 ladies including myself who were on island to celebrate my wedding. When arriving to the boat Lorrie decorated the boat for my “Last Sail Before The Veil” and had mimosas for us all, and she prepared an incredible brunch. It was SO GOOD and I knew we were in for a treat on our charter! David and I arrived a few days later and just had the absolute most wonderful time. We slept like babies on the boat, and ate like a king and queen. Chris and Lorrie were so wonderful to be with, and every meal we ate outside on the back table just soaking in the views of where we had sailed that morning. We spent every day paddle-boarding and snorkeling and the beautiful beaches they took us to, and even thinking about it writing this review brings tears of joy to my eyes! I could not have dreamed up a better way to celebrate my marriage with my new husband, and our only regret is that we did not make it for a few days longer! We cannot wait to come back and do this again with Chris and Lorrie, and just highly recommend them!!!

He has been on the water his entire life. He believes safety first and has had his captains license for over 15 years. He is also an officiant to perform weddings. Born and raised in North Carolina his manners are that of southern charm. A true gentleman. He Knows the Caribbean and all it’s hidden places. He will be happy to have you at the helm with him or get all the water toys out for a day of fun. First Mate Lorrie Is a certified chef with years of culinary experience. Owned several restaurants and a large catering business. She gave that up when she married and came aboard with the Captain. They truly are the best team. She has traveled extensively and has experienced all the exquisite tastes of the world that she now incorporates in her menus. She prides herself on being professional and will accommodate to all your dietary needs. You will be delighted at her creativity, presentation and mouthwatering menu. She will greet you with a cool drink and a warm smile. She shines when it is a special occasion, you will be amazed at how personal she can make your special event! Yes, even weddings on the boat, we have had them too! We like to give back every year. We have sponsored "Make A Wish" that has donated over $14,000 We also give every charter a donation to the charities of the islands we visit. We truly love the Grenadines and are happy to give back to the place we call home.
