The whole family enjoyed everything about the cabin. From the view to the game floor and the comfort and homey feeling of the cabin. We had anything we would need and everything was clean.

Exceptional

We’ve been to this area tons of times and stayed at a lot of cabins, and this one is hands down the best. The mountain views from the deck are beautiful. Even though there are neighbors nearby, it still feels really private—almost like you have the mountain to yourself—since the cabin sticks out from the slope a bit more than the others. The inside is very nice, and the mural is a really cool touch. The Christmas decorations were also beautiful and made the place feel extra cozy. The cabin is at a lower elevation, and the road does get a bit steeper as you get closer, but it wasn’t an issue for us at all—even during a snowstorm. The host sent very detailed road instructions ahead of time, which helped us feel prepared and made getting there easy. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Papa Bear’s Den! The cabin itself was beautiful, spotless, and incredibly cozy, with a breathtaking view that we never got tired of. One of the highlights of our trip was seeing so many bears—it made the experience truly unforgettable. We absolutely loved the game room loft and the hot tub as well! The hostess was wonderful to work with—very easy to contact, responsive, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a magical Gatlinburg getaway.

Beautiful cabin

I booked this cabin for 2 nights and when arrived I immediately realized I had made a mistake. I should have booked for a longer stay!!! This place was absolutely gorgeous and very clean and well kept. We had light snow throughout our stay and it looked like a winter wonderland from the deck. I wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately it was fully booked back to back. I will be back next year!

Beautiful property, very well maintained. Very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg and Ober Mountain. Great communication with owner and easy check in-check out procedure.There was no chalk for the pool table, I let the owner know and he had some overnighted to us. Great customer service!We traveled with our dogs and there is a small backyard to take our pets out everyday. A lot of cabins have no yards at all.We would definitely stay at this cabin again!

Highly recommend

I could not recommend staying here more if you are coming to the mountains! The cabin is beautiful, cozy, clean and even more beautiful than in the pictures. We enjoyed our stay and playing games in the upstairs loft - perfect for all ages! We can't wait to plan our trip back!

Very satisfied

We stayed here in early Dec and the cabin was already beautifully decorated for Christmas with tree and garlands and super cute bear sculptures wearing Santa hats. Loved the game room area which had so many fun things to do. The jukebox was a hit among the old folks lol. It instantly transported us back to a time of chrome diners, sock hops, and 45 rpm records. The mural is an exceptional addition to the space; kids took so many selfies there. I also love how they converted the large bathroom with tub into a shower. It helps a lot when you have mobility challenged elderly staying with you. Plus that bathroom looks amazing. We hope to come back very soon.

Gorgeous

We had the best time in our fall weekend getaway with our adult kids in Gatlinburg. Town is just over a mile down the hill. We just missed the bears, but the owners sent us the video just an hour after we left. The hot tub hit the spot after a long day of hiking. The loft game center was well used, and I got to play Super fast Ms. Pacman for free, my favority. I wish Ski Mountain road was walkable, but it's not the owner's fault! The leaves were GORGEOUS and the sunrises were heavenly. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Well kept

Everything was well kept, the only thing that could have made it better would be if we had more storage for clothing. But really there was plenty for short stays and we always over pack by a long shot. We did stay for closer to a week so with that being said every room had a place for storing your belongings for the duration of an average stay. We didn't have baking sheets which we didn't need. They didn't charge us for anything extra like a full can of garbage. Some places charge if you don't take the garbage out.

Absolutely stunning mountain view

The house had everything we wished for—and even more. If you’re planning a stay in autumn and wondering whether the leaves are really as vibrant as in the photos, they absolutely are. Our kids loved waving at the tram as it passed by, and we even hopped on it ourselves and had fun spotting the cabin from the ride. The view from the upper deck was simply magical. I can only imagine how beautiful it must look in other seasons too. We’re already thinking about returning in winter to enjoy the snow. As a bonus, we spotted a bunch of chunky bears wander around the village streets like they own the place, completely unbothered and very adorable.

We had a little issue with the house not being cleaned before we arrived due to a technical error, but Kate was quick to let us know as soon as she found out. She was so responsive and kept in touch making sure we were updated several times. Communication is huge and she knocked it out of the park. Because the house hadn’t been cleaned she was quick to give us a discount and apologized over and over. No chance you can be upset with someone like that, things happen. We had plans to hike most of the three days, but it rained almost the entire time. Luckily the house had so many things to keep us busy, between all the games upstairs, the pool table, the hot tub, and the jukebox, we didn’t get bored. The driveway is a little tricky, but it was well explained and the extra parking across the street allowed us to have plenty of room for vehicles. We got used to the driveway the first day. There were even a couple fans in the closets. We definitely plan to be back, it’s a great cabin for families! Thanks Kate!

The property is absolutely gorgeous! The view was so amazing and the amenities were over the top. We did see a few bears so make sure you lock your car and keep all food and trash secure. We will be back again for sure!

Breathtaking view

This place has the most incredible mountain view! We got there right at peak fall colors and decided to fully embrace a lazy eat-play-sleep-repeat kind of vacation. Traffic was a little wild, but it didn’t really matter since we mostly stayed in. Nothing beats sipping coffee on the rocking chairs, taking in those gorgeous colorful mountains, and watching the bears wander around the cabin. Absolute heaven. We didn’t even feel the need to go anywhere else to enjoy the Smokies’ beauty.

Cute bear families

We counted at least 3 different bear families with 1, 2 and 4 cubs playing in the backyard during our stay. It was the cutest thing and a once in a life time experience for us. The host said there was a bear den in the wood not far from the backyard. We loved our stay so much and would definitely be back next year!

Amazing

We had such a great stay at Papa Bear’s Den! The cabin was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing mountain getaway. The views from the decks were amazing — especially with our morning coffee — and the game room and hot tub were perfect for unwinding after exploring Gatlinburg. The location felt peaceful and private but was still really close to town. We’d definitely stay here again!

We had a lovely long family weekend here! We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and even got a visit from the bears! Kate was wonderful to communicate with—adding an extra day was easy and she was so flexible with us arriving slightly earlier than our check-in time. The view of the mountains at sunrise and sunset from the deck was spectacular. In case this helps anyone else, we found that with the drive up the mountains, taking the slightly longer route that has you driving through downtown Gatlinburg was much easier to get to the cabin than the way from Pigeon Forge.Would stay here again!

Excellent

Clean and beautiful as described. We were very impressed with the exceptional level of customer service. There was an HVAC issue when we first arrived, but the host acted at lightning speed and got a tech there within 1 hr of notice and fixed it in 15 mins. She also checked in on us and made sure we got everything we needed. It also looked like the cabin was maintained well. The deck has a new beautiful red stain, which makes the cabin really stand out from the green backdrop. Several pieces of furniture looked quite new. They also added a head-to-head arcade in the game room, which was not in the pictures so that was a pleasant surprise. We would recommend this cabin to everyone.

Great cabin! Very clean and professional-looking upon arrival, easy check-in process. Tons of amenities! We really loved hanging out and enjoying the view from the amazing deck. The game room is super cool, playing pool and listening to the little jukebox was fun! Fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, even did a load of laundry! No complaints! For future guests, there is frequent bear activity so be sure to heed the provided notes from the owners! And the driveway is pretty sharp and steep, but there is parking off the road if you have a low profile or large vehicle! Will definitely be back!!

I have a great interest in interior decor and travelling. Hosting a vacation rental means I can do both yay! I purchased this cabin in Sep 2019. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it, and I hope you do too. I think money may or may not bring joy; however, travel definitely makes us happier. It gives us an opportunity to step outside our well-worn, self-constructed realities and provides a platform to explore ourselves - who we might be when we are not anxious about safety, security and status. Being in the travel business make me feel like I am a life improver. I am happy when my guests are happy. That is why I am working very hard to make your experiences of the Smokies pleasant and unforgettable.

I love everything about this cabin. It is located in Chalet Village, a perfect location that is close to everything. The cabin is new, spacious, and very well-maintained. All rooms have a cabin-style log bed with a comfy mattress, and a flat screen TV with Cable TV service. The cabin has a large 2-level deck with hot tub and BBQ grill, looking out to a million dollar view of the mountains and the tram. An entire story is designated for fun activities, including pooling table, poker table, arcade, and board games. Bears are active in the neighborhood, which provides a great opportunity for our guests to watch them from the deck. Another perk is access to three nearby clubhouses with pools and tennis courts.
