🙏 Thank you for staying with us, Debbie — glad you all had a great time and that you enjoyed the house and loved the boardwalk. You also shared privately that the home was great, which we really appreciated. 🥳 Because of that, I was a bit disappointed to see the 3-star rating and wanted to clarify a couple of points for future guests so expectations stay accurate. The pool’s seasonal sun/shade pattern is actually a big perk during the hotter months, though in cooler seasons a shaded pool can feel a bit brisk. The good news is that Wits End is one of the rare Gulf Shores homes with a heatable pool — something many guests really value. 🙌 Pool heating is an optional add-on (as with almost all homes that offer it — it’s a spendy system to run in standalone houses), and it’s clearly explained in the listing, rental agreement, and pre-arrival messages. So we were a little surprised to see it noted as an “FYI.” We do ask guests to request it in advance so we can coordinate with the pool company; in your case, you asked during the stay, and we offered to have them come out, but you chose not to add the nightly surcharge. Regarding the cleaning comment — our team consistently earns excellent feedback, but if anything ever seems off, we’re always happy to address it immediately. We want every guest to feel fully supported. 👍 We’re glad you enjoyed the property overall and appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Thanks again! 🙏

🤗 Yay! Glad you "had a blast" and the house was super clean, and that you loved the walk way and EVERYTHING else except.... I am super bummed to lose a star for not liking that you have to traverse a lot of stairs. Unfortunately, all homes on the beach start a floor up, so you will always have that flight of stairs, and unless a home happens to be all one one floor (rare, but I have a couple like that!) then there will be 2-3 sets of them, one for each level, of course. And the duplex style homes, which are a super value, exacerbate this a bit because of how they are designed as two units side by side. Like any similar 'townhome" there will have those stairs that go straight up (not turns, no landings). That's pretty unavoidable. You could rent a home with an elevator (super rare and expensive, though i have some of those too) or go with a stand alone home--more expensive than equivalent duplexes, but... usually they have landings in the flights of stairs so not a straight shot up! Again glad you all had the best time in our home. Perhaps next time we find an all-on-one level home, or spurge for an elevator, if the steps of the most common homes are a bit much!
