I had the privilege of a holiday season stay at Boni Chateau in the Discovery Bay region of Jamaica for Christmas and New Year's 2020-21. What a wonderful experience in every respect.
When you arrive you will meet your host, Valrie. You will find your host immediately to be kind, personable and attentive.
Upon being shown into your accommodations you will see it is functional, comfortable and 'as advertised'. It is simple, elegant perfection and a much welcome vacation from the hustle bustle urban world and from the rigors of a Canadian winter, for example
The yard you are welcome to roam around in is an awe inspiring well thought out snapshot of a tropical paradise As you step into the yard you will at first encounter a starfruit (5 finger fruit) tree. Just a few steps in any direction over the meticulously manicured lawn you will encounter a plantain tree, guava, breadfruit tree, mango tree, and many other tropical treasures you are welcome to pick from for your own immediate consumption which was so wonderfully different than Canadian winter fare. I enjoyed just wandering around the yard and enjoying the uniquely tropical sights and sounds. The colours of the flowers, plants and trees is almost endless simple beauty in any direction you wander or look around the yard.
Boni Chateau in my view is excellent value for money. It is a true Caribbean experience and decidedly different from the all inclusive resorts.

The ability to just step outside and literally pick whatever fruit that is in season -- .the property has a variety of exotic fruits from which to choose. Additionally, still on the edible side there is breadfruit, plantain, banana and ackee. Also, the guest has the freedom to enjoy the outdoors, sun tan and moonlight on the patio., relax and unwind and enjoy nature at its best in a tranquil atmosphere. a true home away from home in a park-like setting.
