The cabin is very cozy as it is described (225sq ft), however, the pictures are a little misleading regarding how close you are to the water. You are on the channel of Hayward Lake and I asked how far it was from the cabin because we were both seniors and my friend was using a walker or wheelchair. I was told it was about 200 feet, but it seemed much farther than that when I pushed him down to the dock in his wheelchair. The cabin is NOT VERY accessible for a senior who is using a walker or a wheelchair. We were lucky enough to have people in the nearby cabins help me get my friend into the cabin when we first arrived, because the distance from the parking to the cabin is a bit of a way for a disabled person or a senior.The cabin itself was very cute inside, however, again not very accessible for seniors or people with disabilities. The toilet is VERY low, and it would be nice if they could replace it with a higher stool just to help that situation. There is plumbing directly in front of the toilet which gets in the way of your legs and makes it difficult to get up, especially if you are a senior or disabled as he was. I would just suggest explaining the lack of “accessibility” more on the site description so people are aware of it.The rest of my comments are minor in detail and are more “housekeeping”. The refrigerator/freezer is very small considering there is no kitchen. Most people don’t use the freezer section, but would rather have a larger refrigerator. We were th

Information was exactly as listed for the cabin Location excellent, you can walk anywhere in town of Hayward. Cabins were formerly part of a little German built resort, so kind of close together, however area was very inviting and yes on the lake front with access to dock and canoe launch.

We had such a nice stay. Was great to be able to bring the dogs. The trailer parking was perfect. Shower was good. Overall a very nice stay. One really nice surprise was the sense of community with the other renters. We got to know 3 other groups and spent time with them at the campfire, etc. We even brought one couple along for a boat ride with us. We will very likely be back. Hayward is such a nice community.

Short Getaway

Enjoyed our one night stay in Fancy Fireflies cabin. Cute and rustic, with pathways between cabins. Price was right, too! Especially happy to find a dog-friendly place to stay.

Anniversary stay and visit with parents

We gave our son and his wife a three day visit to your firefly cabin while they were here in Hayward visiting us. There were only two kerfuffles. Because there is such limited Wi-Fi I wasn't able to open the VRBO connection to get the key code right away. I'm not sure that there would've been an easier way, maybe in a direct DM. The other issue was that the shower was not draining and they had to go purchase some Drano that seemed to do the trick and they had no issues after a treatment of that. They really did enjoy the location and the coziness of the cabin. My husband and I had stayed in the honey bear previously and did also like staying in a little cabin versus a hotel. We will definitely rent again.

Weekend getaway

Very quiet property. Cozy cabin. The grounds are very well maintained. You do not feel like you are in town, but get the convenience of downtown Hayward being within walking distance. Matt was an excellent & responsive host! We would stay again.

Great little cabin for a couple nights stay. The grounds were well kept. It was beautiful sitting outside by the fire bonus was you can buy fire wood right on site! Would stay again!

Perfect Getaway

My husband, our dog, and I just returned from another relaxing long weekend at the Fancy Fireflies cabin, and as always, it was absolutely wonderful. We've stayed here a few times over the years, and each visit feels like a cozy retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The tiny cabin is so charming and peaceful. We especially love the location. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

Fire Fly Cabin - Hayward

The property was beautiful. The cabin was so homey and cozy. The process of getting into the cabin was so easy, and the neighborhood is beautiful and filled with fun little things to do. We had a wonderful time and could not recommend this cabin more!!! IT WAS PERFECT!

Abrupt Cancellation

I was unfortunately unable to utilize my reservation to an illness to a member of the party I was going to be visiting during my stay so I had to cancel the trip. I contacted Matthew to notify him that his housekeeping crew would not need to clean the cabin after my presumed stay and he was kind enough to refund the cleaning fee from my rental. It was much appreciated!

Don't be fooled - it looks like there are 2 entrances here - but the second door is just a storage room. This is your own private cabin!

This is a pet-friendly (there will be a pet cleaning fee), perfect little cabin right in the heart of Hayward with easy access to everything you will want to do during your stay here!

Easy access using a key code & key.

We have a tv with cable & there is wifi!

We love & have lots of dogs and know how important it is to bring your pooch along on your adventure. We are pet-friendly but please let us know if you plan to bring yours, as we do charge a cleaning fee per pet ($25 per dog for the total stay). We will have to send you a separate request for this payment. We ask that you clean up after your dog (inside the cabin & outside), and do not leave your dog unattended in the cabin.

We provide the essentials - bath towels, shampoo/conditioner, soap, dish soap, coffee mugs, plates, utensils,. We have a keurig coffee maker with coffee, sugar and creamer for you. We have a small fridge, microwave and sink. There is an outdoor grill, you will need to bring charcoal & lighter fluid.

We have a few games in the dresser drawers for your use.

This is a small cabin community with some common/shared spaces - there are 2 firepits that are for you to use, picnic tables, and multiple docks. You can bring and launch your canoe or kayak right here on the water.
