Very well located, well stocked and furnished apartment. Quiet. Beds comfortable, not too soft. Host and property manager were prompt with responses. Being a medieval stone building we were prepared for several flights of stairs, and that it might take a day to get it warmed up in early March. Not a complaint from us but something others should consider. Would definately stay there again.

We are surprised by your comment regarding the temperature of the apartment as the thermostat was set to 19°, the reference comfort temperature in France, checked before your arrival.

Fantastic accommodation in a superb position

Very quiet for a city location, spacious, clean, comfortable. Very close to centre and all amenities. Good base to explore more of the Dordogne. Highly recommend, would stay again.

Spring vacation in Sarlat

Le Genis is the perfect location for any type of traveler and is steps away from the center of Sarlat. There is a two minute walk to cafes, restaurants and shops as well as the Markets that are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We stayed in Le Genis for a month and found all the needed amenities for a more than comfortable stay. We will definitely be returning!

Perfect

We could not have been happier. The apartment was great, tall windows flooding the rooms with light. Views and location couldn’t be better. Steps to restaurants and the markets. We were so happy here in the apartment and beautiful Sarlat. Also, Christine (host) very quick with answers and Niyada, who helped us check in and out and answered any and all questions while we were there, was an absolute gem. She made our trip so much easier. All in all, a lovely lovely place.

Beyond our expectations

We loved staying in Sarlat. The whole family 12 and 14 year old wanted to stay longer and thought the space would have been comfortable to live in. The pictures don’t show how much space there really is. We arrived for le fete de musique. The next day was the Saturday market. It couldn’t have been more perfect. If I ever visit France again I will stay there again and I plan on telling my friends and family to make staying at the Standing Genis part of any European vacation.

Anniversary trip

This property is superb. It is very clean, and well stocked with needed items. The interior is very charming and nicely decorated. The kitchen has everything you need and the bathroom is very appropriate. The beds are quite comfortable. We were amazed how quiet the neighborhood is, at least in September....virtually no street noise even with the windows open. The location is excellent, on a side street but right around the corner from the heart of Sarlat, about a 60 second walk. Free public parking is an easy 5 minute walk. I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again. We were more than pleased with the apartment and its location.

Steps from the Center of Sarlat

What a magical place! We were so pleased with the location, just steps to fantastic restaurants, live music, local shops, the huge market on Saturday and the beautiful old buildings that surround you. Church bells ring and pigeons sing in this old city that charms you with every step. The apartment is just right - so clean, well decorated and nicely appointed, perfect for our family of four. The light pours in the beautiful old tall windows but it is on a very quiet street. Our check-in was easy and we had everything we needed. Thank you for this lovely retreat in the heart of Sarlat, we really were surprised at what a beautiful step back in time we all experienced. We can't wait to come back!

Pefect

The apartment is beautifully decorated and appointed, and very comfortable. The views across the city rooftops is exceptional. We were greeted by Frederic who came to the car to escort us to the apartment (parking is 150 yards away on the 'ring' road around the old city) and also helped with our luggage. We can't say enough about the location and the town is absolutely gorgeous with most buildings back to the 1500's but maintained very well. (The exterior of the Boetie, built in 1525, was undergoing restoration work)If you want to learn about truffles and walnuts, and good provincial cooking, it's all here.We will definitely return to Sarlat and stay here as there are many sites to visit within an hour's drive. One can have high quality experiences every day for more than a week and still feel that there is more to do.

Visite de Sarlat et des environs

Très agréable séjour à Sarlat pour visiter la région. L’appartement était très bien placé, en plein centre historique sans avoir les inconvénients liés au bruit de la rue. La décoration très sympa ainsi que l’accueil par Frédéric. Seul bémol, les difficultés pour se garer le soir, les parkings étant souvent complets.

eine Woche Sarlat

Es war alles prima - zwei Sachen machen die weniger gute Bewertung aus. Erstens: Es gibt keinen Parkplatz - bedeutet es gibt nur öffentliche Parkplätze gegen Bezahlung oder man sucht einen kostenlosen Parkplatz, wie viele andere Besucher von Sarlat. Das macht auch die Anreise mit Gepäck schwierig und beim Erkunden der Gegend beginnt die Suche nach einem Parkplatz erneut. Zweitens: Sind es draußen über 30 Grad dann heizt die Wohnung auf - nachts waren dort auch noch 28-30 Grad, was keine guten Temperaturen zum Schlafen sind. Die Ventilatoren bewegen nur die warme Luft. Fazit: Ist man wenige Tage NUR in Sarlat (PKW nicht bewegen) dann ist die Lage der Wohnung genial. Die Ausstattung ist einwandfrei!.

Für den Parkplatz haben wir Ihnen erklärt, dass es sich um einen automatischen Übersetzungsfehler auf der Fewo Direct-Plattform handelte, da in unserer VRBO-Anzeige in Frankreich deutlich darauf hingewiesen wird, dass der Parkplatz öffentlich und kostenlos ist. Nach Ihrem Kommentar dauerte es 5 Wochen, bis die Ankündigung in Deutschland korrekt geändert wurde. Es ist Fewo Direct, dass Sie sanktionieren sollten und nicht unsere Wohnung zu Unrecht. Was die Hitze betrifft, wird in unserer Anzeige keine Klimaanlage erwähnt (in diesem denkmalgeschützten Gebäude unmöglich). Es liegt an Ihnen, bei der Auswahl Ihrer Unterkunft vorsichtig zu sein.

Au cœur de Sarlat

L’appartement est à la fois charmant et fonctionnel dans un immeuble de cachet en plein cœur de Sarlat. Notre séjour fut en tout point réussi non seulement parce que la ville est superbe mais aussi parce que l’appartement, extrêmement accueillant, a contribué à un merveilleux moment à Sarlat et dans le Périgord

Appartement parfait pour un séjour dans le Périgord

Superbe appartement très bien situé pour visiter Sarlat et le Périgord. Très fonctionnel et agréable. Rien ne manque. L'accueil est également impeccable.
