Very pleased that you mentioned the history attached to our site. Our sumptuous Bay was the location where the explorers arrived in Moorea in the 18th century... more details in our James Cook section. We are history buffs, and we brought very interesting history books from the London National Maritime Museum, which are available for use in our villas. A great read along with a drink in one of our hammocks!

Thank you for your review and for your comments on our Villa and our services, particularly regarding Alix our private concierge living on site in our property. We offer traditional wooden houses, the one you stayed in was built to our design in Bali and it was quite an adventure to rebuild it along the lagoon of Moorea. We have enhanced it with modern features (large aluminum bay windows, kitchen appliances, AC, selected furniture, etc) and we dedicate four weeks of work each year to maintain / improve it for the satisfaction of our guests. While many other houses have tiles everywhere and suspended ceilings, we strive to maintain it all-wood because we love walking barefoot on tropical wood... or sand of course. You were lucky to spend NYE in this house, but one must say you booked a looooong time in advance to get this special date ! Hope to greet you again maybe for another NYE?! We work constantly to improve and maintain our Villas amenities and this is a great reward when guests appreciate them. Currently we are improving the kitchen and the second bedroom, but this is true the Lanai facing the bay is the masterpiece of this Villa! We hope to greet you again. Thank you so much for your glowing review!! This is always such a reward for all our team when our guests enjoy our beach Villas so much. It was a real challenge to design, import, build and decorate this wooden Villa by the lagoon water... but we love the outcome. Lazing in the hammock of the lanai admiring the stunning location of Opunohu bay with the outrigger canoes passing by is absolute bliss. Don't worry, we take very good care of them !

Thank you for your thorough description of your stay in our beach Villa Wallis in Moorea. Concerning AC, please know that in French Polynesia only bedrooms are usually covered, since the lounges of our houses are very open with very large sliding windows opening on the Lanai and no AC would be efficient in such conditions. Moorea is a tiny island with only one circling road and as you mention there can be traffic in the morning and at the end of the afternoon when people are commuting to the ferries. Fortunately we are quite far from the ferry (30 min trip) as traffic is much busier in the vicinity of Maharepa village for instance.
