Quiet, Comfortable, Close to Everything

My wife and I just returned from our 2nd annual, 4-week stay at Paige and Calvin's home in Palm Desert, and if this isn't the best rental location in the valley, what is? The El Paseo restaurants and shops are two minutes away. Two minutes further and you're at the McCallum Theatre, where a wide range of world-class performers await. We went to three performances on this trip and loved them all. In the opposite direction, 5 minutes up the road takes you into the San Jacinto National Monument. Bighorn Sheep, desert wildflowers, endless interesting hiking through beautiful desert landscapes. All of this at your fingertips while staying in a comfortable home, with a lovely, private yard and views over the valley. Paige and Calvin live just up the road if you need anything. And I'd be wrong not to mention the homemade ice cream and homemade brownies waiting for you.

Mountain Retreat Near Town

We stayed at Paige and Calvin's house in Palm Desert, in March, 2024. Of the many lovely places we've stayed in the Coachella Valley over the years, this was the nicest. And as cliched as it sounds, Paige is the consummate host. In touch ahead of time to make sure she had the kind of coffee we like? Check. Homemade ice cream, brownies, and fresh-squeezed juice on arrival? Check. Available if you lock yourself out of the house? Check. We came to the valley for tennis, hiking, and cultural events. Paige and Calvin's place is perfectly located for all of this and just up the road from Whole Foods and the El Paseo shops and restaurants in Palm Desert, five minutes from the McCallum Theatre, an easy drive to Indian Canyons and Tahquitz Canyon. And if you just want to walk out the door and go for a walk in the morning or evening, the house sits on 5 acres which border a public park with hiking trails. We loved the backyard, with the citrus trees, numerous avian guests, and garden for relaxing with a book or visiting with a friend. We can't wait to return next year!

Mountain Retreat close to City Center

Just as Described, great quiet private retreat just blocks from Hwy 74. Pup friendly next door to dog park. Owners are very accommodating and respect visitors privacy, they are very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay. Paige provides nearly every small appliance imaginable. Property was clean, well stocked, washer and dryer were great. Excellent stay. Hope to visit again.

Winter escape

I loved the remote, yet so close to everything location! The space was very charming and ambience was just my vibe. Being close to the hiking trails and off leash dog walking area was perfect for my pup and I. Paige and Calvin were very attentive to all my needs. Weather was just about perfect.

Nice property, central location

Paige was so nice and responsive to make our stay easy and enjoyable! The patio is very nice with a view of the valley and we grilled several times during our stay. We look forward to returning and enjoying this property again. Thanks for making us welcome!

Secluded Hideway

Paige and Calvin are wonderful hosts, very accommodating. Booking and access went smoothly. Excellent treats on arrival. We enjoyed our stay at their very private casita. Close to everything without the hustle bustle. The casita was very welcoming with everything thing we needed for a comfortable stay. Would definitely do it again.

Location and Views

This property sits above El Paseo and the 111, in Palm Desert, it is very close to shopping, dining,, art and amazing hiking trails. The property is very bright with light and windows you look out the windows and see views everywhere. The couple who host this property are absolutely the best hosts I have yet to encounter. When you arrive, they bring you a surprise, throughout the stay, they are there for you. if there is anything you need, Calvin and Paige are right on it. If you are looking for a vacation home in the desert, with views all around, an amazing location, you should definately check this one out. We were renting in between moving here, we have moved here now, I will just rent it for my guests who come to town...or maybe just for us, a weekend away from the dogs...:) it's truly a delightful home.

Peaceful, eclectic, ambience

Peaceful and private

We enjoyed our 30 days there. The host's live close by and are helpful if needed. The house is a one story, up against a hillside and on 5 acres. It has a large well landscaped yard. Hiking trails right out the back and close to the Paseo. Hwy 74 is close by for a trip up into the mountains.
