Our stay at the apartment was generally nice — it’s a comfortable place, and Sara, the owner, was responsive and helpful in answering our questions during our time there.However, we had a problem with the washing machine, which either broke during use or was already not functioning properly. Unfortunately, our clothes worth about 350 CHF became stuck inside. Sara told us she had contacted her insurance, but the resolution process has been unclear. We were informed that we might only be able to retrieve our clothes (still wet and inside the machine) in about four weeks, depending on an investigation to determine the cause of the damage. We’ve asked for more details about who will handle this and when, but haven’t received a response yet.At this stage, we don’t know if or how we’ll be reimbursed for our lost clothing, though we’ve sent pictures of everything that was trapped in the machine for clarity.Overall, while the apartment and host communication were good before the issue, the handling of the washing machine incident has been disappointing and left us uncertain about the outcome.
