We love this place and we love Gianluca [the owner]

We love this place and we love Gianluca [the owner]. This is our second visit to Casa Vela and we’d come back again. It’s one of the few places with a parking space. The view is spectacular from the two huge terraces. The kitchen is small and the couch in the same room makes up the entire indoor living area. That’s not a problem with so much beautiful outdoor space. Our only recommendation would be to go through the kitchen cabinets and streamline the pots, pans and utensils. There are 10 lids that don’t fit any of the pans and eliminating some of these things would free up space for some of the things on the limited counter space. And maybe an electric drip coffee maker would be nice. But overall Casa Vela is a 10!!

Our two week stay at Casa Vela was the best vacation ever. It is a beautiful house surrounded by flowers and a spectacular view of the Mediterranean. We were happy to be in Praiano, a quiet village away from - but close to - the bustling Positano and Amalfi. Our hosts were more than helpful, welcoming and friendly. The people at Summer In Italy were a joy with whom to work: responsive, professional and friendly. Booking our stay could not have been easier. I highly recommend Summer In Italy.

Stunning location, concierge-like hosting

Casa Vela (Villino Blue) was a perfect, beautiful stay for our small family (3 adults, 1 couple + 1) on the Amalfi coast. Gianluca (GL) the host went above and beyond with recommendations for our travel, arranging reservations for us and even picked us up at the beach where we arrived by water taxi. After navigating many travel details throughout Italy, the concierge-like service along with this amazing location made it a highlight of our trip. We got by without a car as we embrace the many steps, walking and figuring out the local transportation. If you do have a car, the villa comes with a parking space, which is rare for this area, though driving would be its own challenge in this hill towns. The villa has most anything one needs for comfort, cooking and a nice local character. GL and his family are nearby and available for questions or assistance. Systems-plumbing, AC etc are a bit quirky as is normal in Italy. Location is in middle of town/hill so good loc for accessing both lower sites: beaches, the village “center”, water side walks; road and transportation to other Amalfi Coast locations and also upper sites: some amazing restaurants, churches and the hiking trail Sentiero degli Dei. The views and sun at all times of day from the two patios are reason enough to stay here.

The pictures online do not do it justice! The views are amazing. The home has everything you need and then some. It was perfect. Even has private parking which is rare on the Amalfi Coast. Gianluca, our host was amazing! He helped us with local secrets of where to go and where to eat. He helped with transfers and was an all around amazing host. Goes above and beyond! We will be sending a few friends here and we will return to stay. It really was perfect. Summer In Italy was easy to book with. No issues. They were very responsive.

Casa Vela is a beautiful place to stay! The view is incredible and our accommodations were excellent. Gianluca (property contact person) made sure that our stay was very enjoyable and comfortable. He was very informative and helpful and stayed in touch on a regular basis to ensure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend this location to anyone. My friend and I stayed at the Villino Blu for 7d/6n. The home is very lovely, clean and a quiet great location. It comes with a parking space, which for us was very important. The beds are comfortable and rooms are spacious. The air conditioner was working perfectly the entire time. The bathrooms are small! The showers are very small. I am 5'3" and 135lbs, I found the shower stall very uncomfortable and at times I had to turn water off just to be able to move myself better to clean. We had trouble once with the water pressure and the issue was taken care of and resolved immediately. The owner/manager was always a phone call/text away and always answered us within 30 min. He was both helpful and very easy to work with. The view is spectacular and cannot be beat. Being able to walk up and see the sun come up over the mountains and onto the sea was quite possibly the most amazing time of the day. The public beach is walking distance (about 15-20min) however remember when walking down, you need to walk back up and there are many steep inclines and steps. There are a few restaurants and the local market for food was walking distance as well. The local bus is 2 min walk from Villa and easy to figure out so you can get to Positano or Amalfi. The manager was also willing to pick us up from Positano if we missed the bus back, which was above and beyond in my book. You will not be disappointed with Villino Blu, very nice start to our 2 week holiday

Casa Vela is amazing

Casa Vela is amazing. Best views in the best town on the Amalfi Coast. Incredible outdoor space with the two terraces, both of which are huge. Kitchen is super well-equipped, bedroom is incredible, well situated and large. Having two beautiful bathrooms is a luxury. If one had to look far and wide for the slightest thing to complain about, it would be the terraces are so big and accommodating, the view from inside is limited. But who wants to be inside when on the Amalfi Coast??!! Absolutely nothing can be done to improve the terrific service and attention we received from Summer in Italy. From communication, to flexibility to information, Summer in Italy was fantastic.

Family Amalfi Coast trip

We travel often (parents & two teenage children) and would rather stay in private homes or apartments so we use VRBO. This is lengthy but I feel it needs to be.... I will start by saying we have never had such a GREAT experience with a home owner. We had some issues getting to Italy (not at fault of the home owner) but immediately upon our arrival from the United States, we were contacted by Gianluca (20 year old son of the home owners Maurizo & Alessandra and fluent in English). Gianluca helped resolve many issues we had with transportation (even though he did not have to) and went out of his way to make this one of the best trips we have had to Europe. Maurizo even spoke to our taxi driver on the phone for several minutes because of translation issues when we first arrived in Italy and we would NOT have been able to initially get to the property without the HELP of Maurizo. Our teenage son got sick during our stay and Gianluca even helped get us medicine in the small town of Praiano, helped arrange places to eat, tours, taxis, etc. throughout the Almalfi Coast and communicated with us daily. He even got us adapters for our cell phone charges because we forgot ours in the USA. Because of Gianluca, our trip will be one to remember despite the few days our son was sick and we cannot THANK him enough. This property is exactly as pictured and we WILL return in the future. The homeowners live downstairs but you would never know unless you ask them for something. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone traveling to the Almalfi Coast but make sure you can walk because the beach, restaurants, etc. all require steep hills and hundreds of steps. The property has only a few stairs but to get anywhere you must be able to walk many stairs. This was not an issue with anyone in our party (we actually like walking and experiencing the town) but you should be aware. Consider renting this property and you will not be disappointed.....

Fantastic view!

You will be mesmerized by the view! Praiano is fabulous. Quaint, not crowded with a beautiful harbor. Everything is walkable. Stay here and you will love it!

Amazing Villa

We loved this villa! It is a perfect location, away from the crowds but also an easy walk to restaurants and the market. The outdoor space is gorgeous and we could not have asked for a better host. Gianluca was exceptional and helped us with tours, taxis, scooters and anything we needed. We highly recommend Villino Blu!

Heaven on earth hands down the most amazing view/location

Heaven on earth hands down the most amazing view/location. Gianluca is knowledgeable and always available to help, he organised for us day trips and gave us valuable advises, the house is a window on paradise, clean, very well appointed and conveniently located in the heart of the Amalfi Coast. This is a stay that I will never forget, thank you.

This is a lovely place, good location and well stocked

This is a lovely place, good location and well stocked. There is parking for one small car and the outdoor terraces and gardens are amazing. Bed was reasonably comfortable. AC works well, which is important as it is very hot in the summer months. The owners live below and are very responsive to any problems or concerns.They were great, very helpful but allowed us our privacy. The communication and service were great, would not hesitate to use Summer In Italy again or recommend.

Enjoyed the stay

Enjoyed the stay. The outdoor space was the plus for the stay - the indoor space was sufficient overall - and having laundry facilities was key to us. This was a very good place to stay. We appreciated the amenities and cleanliness. We liked the location - overall - as it was equidistant between Marina di Praia Beach and the center of town. The hosts / owners - were great. Summer In Italy did a great job. You communicated well. Your options for information - like your newsletter and Facebook presence - were good resources.

The views from the two patios of this home are simply stunning

The views from the two patios of this home are simply stunning. The home was perfect for our family of four. The manager met us in town, then led us up to the home. Driving is crazy along the Amalfi Coast, so we were happy to have a parking spot right at the entrance to the house. Be prepared to do a lot of walking in Praiano, but fortunately the house is walking distance to a local bus stop and grocery store. We chose to walk to the beach daily, which was challenging, but doable. Many restaurants offer a shuttle service and will pick you up at the home, making the location very convenient. The house was clean and very well stocked. Beds were comfortable. The showers were small, but the water pressure was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this home.
