We highly recommend Villa Begonia for Tuscany travelers
We highly recommend Villa Begonia for Tuscany travelers. The house is new, very quiet, very well equipped, very modern -- and everything works wonderfully well. We stayed a full month, with a variety of guests each week. Everyone loved the home, property and hosts. The host is an engineer and the home was designed and built in 2003-2005 with the highest quality products. The kitchen, as well as the outdoor entertaining space, are perfect for family or communal dinners. We even used the outdoor wood-burning oven. And the pool is new, pristine, and surrounded by an acre of fruit trees and roses. We couldn't have chosen a better place for our vacation!
Montelupo Fiorentino itself is a charming small town (about 14,000 residents) and shop owners and staff were very friendly, as well as willing to chat in Italian, with those of us practicing the language (though they all could speak English, also). We really enjoyed being in a small town that was easy to navigate and very close to the house.
We were off somewhere almost every day, either by train to Florence, Bologna or Siena, or by car to wander through the hills to wineries and remote villages. The restaurants in the area are excellent, and the grocery store is close at hand for supplies. We will definitely return for our next Tuscan vacation!
The host and hostess are delightful people who were extremely welcoming and helpful, whether it was making restaurant reservations, providing directions, or educating us on where to shop or visit in the area.
