Unfortunately, with all the issues with the room..our stay was not even close to our expectations. Our room was supposedly still needing to be cleaned when we arrived at our scheduled check in time. The staff at the MGM Signature was great! They gave us a voucher to go grab something to eat in the cafe while we waited. The minute we got off the elevator, we were hit with an intense pot aroma. We were in a hurry to get to the pool before it closed at 5 so we set our bags down, changed and headed down. We were disappointed that the pool was closed due to wind. We changed again and left for dinner. When we got back and I was getting ready for bed I noticed something on the carpet. It was Food!!! I started to take a closer look and there was food and wrappers on the floor. My understanding is that the MGM Signature is in charge of cleaning, so they definitely failed as well but even if the room was spotless is was so run down. The stained and smelly carpet was definitely an issue. The couch had rips and was really worn. The fridge smelled and had leaked at some point because of what was stained on the carpet…and that’s just the surface stuff.
I specifically chose the property over all of the other options because they are a Premier Host and the description of the room with the pictures drew me in. Had I known the reality ahead of time, there is no way I would have chosen this room.
Also, we had to go down to the front desk and ask for help when I didn’t get a response back from the property owner. They moved us to a different room but by this time it was midnight and we were told that we would be returning to our original room once it was “cleaned”. That meant staying packed and being prepared to move by 10 am the next day.
We checked our original room the next morning only to find that it had been vacuumed and the sheets had been changed but that was about it…there were still wrappers and crumbs and the smell was so strong. The front staff again stepped up and made sure we could stay in the room we moved to which was so much cleaner and nicer.
If the property owners invested in new carpets, a new mattress and couch and new mini fridge, that could resolve some of the issues but the fact that we were put in the middle of the property owner and the MGM and who was responsible for cleaning….totally distasteful
