Our hosts were super welcoming & friendly. We had a wonderful time hearing about the history and "happenings" in the area. Location was great for exploring Cape George or zooming into town for shopping and restaurants.
The grill and outdoor fireplace were fun for a relaxing evening with family and friend by the fire. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked for all your needs. We roasted coffee beans out by the fire and perfected our pour-over coffee technique. Be sure to go to the farmer's market in Antigonish on Sat (https://www.antigonishfarmersmarket.ca/) to get local produce, eggs, meat and fish.
Don't miss the short walk through Antigonish landing where you can find a massive bald eagle nest if you know where to look (inland toward the white house on the hill).
There was plenty to do at the cottage. We were working remotely during the day (The wifi was excellent for 4 of us to be online at the same time ) and relaxed during the evenings. The cabin and barn was loaded with games & books.
Kayaking & paddling in the evening when the water was as still as glass was absolutely beautiful.
We saw a seal, deer, eagles, herons, hummingbirds and a black bear up the road. One heron in particular visited nearly every morning fishing off the boat dock. I would not mind waking to the view every day!
The only real negative were mosquitos. They were relentless preventing us from doing more outdoor activities (we visited early Aug). Bring your bug spray.
