Waterfront One Bedroom Apartment

Spacious, one bedroom apartment with water views from every window. Enter from your own private patio. The pebble and rock beach is down a short path (200'). The apartment is in a natural rural setting where you can see the stars at night, hear the birds in the morning, and catch a glimpse of wildlife in the woods.

Antigonish Harbour is a protected estuary where you can kayak, sail, or canoe in protected waters--you can access all this from your door. Prepare for spectacular sunsets as you barbeque on your private patio and watch the herons feed at the water's edge.

Kayaks are available for guest use.

We are 15 minutes from the town of Antigonish, where you will find St. Francis Xavier University, well-stocked stores, and an assortment of restaurants..

For those seeking more beach time, you will find several beaches close by: rugged Dunn's Beach (30 min walk), 2 miles of sandy beach at Pomquet Provincial Park (10 minute drive), Mahoney's Beach (30 min).

Keppoch Mountain, a recreational site for biking, hiking, disc golf, and winter sports is 25 minutes away.

We are located 10 minutes off the Trans Canada Highway, making it a perfect spot to take a rest on the way to Cape Breton or the Newfoundland Ferry.

Lobster season here is May and June. The wharf is just down the road.

This was a perfect spot for us to spend a couple of days. We were warmly greeted by our host John, who gave us helpful info on restaurants and hikes in the area. The apartment was very clean, and so comfortable. The highlight was the fully stocked kitchen- making impromptu cooking so easy. Since sleep is importantly to me- i will say it was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in!

One of the best VRBO experiences I have had. Owners were extremely good at communicating. Location was perfect. In the water. Incredibly clean and functional and with all the necessities including coffee, milk, condiments and full kitchen. As I arrived their daughter was picking apples and gave me a few - a perfect welcoming gift.

We were thrilled to stay here. It was everything and more that it was represented to be. We stayed for over a week, used it as a home base to see all we could see of Nova Scotia. For two nights during our stay, we stayed elsewhere. When we returned here, we both said, "it's good to be home." The hosts are amazing as well, probably be friends for life.

Southside Harbour Vacations Apartment was a lovely little gem along the Antigonish Harbour. We loved the apartment! It’s a spacious layout with beautiful decor. It was meticulously clean. John and Kathryn were very friendly hosts, they shared lots of information about the area’s highlights and accommodated us with kayaks and a lobster steamer. Beautiful Spot

Great place. Everything you need is there. John and Kathryn have thought of everything to make it like home. Close to waters edge and a great view. Lots of interesting things to see and do in the area.

We found this property to be amazing right from our arrival. The hosts met us when we drove up with a warm welcoming. The location and the views were great, It was very comfortable, well equipped and absolutely spotless. The washer and dryer was a nice addition as we had been travelling for numerous days. We would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.

Fabulous!

We were en route to Cape Breton and decided after an expected long drive to stop in Antigonish before continuing on our journey. It was dark when we arrived and got a little lost. Our hosts came to the rescue and literally guided me down the path to our apartment! Exceptional service indeed! Loved the place and the hosts. Thank you!

Great Unit

Thank you John & Kathryn. This is a beautiful little spot and the hosts are so friendly and have thought of everything in the unit. We were touched when Kathryn’s brought us fresh tomatoes from her garden and welcomed us on arrival.

Terrific spot

Wonderful stay; wish we could have stayed longer. Kathrynn and John were terrific hosts and their place was very well equipped with everything we could need, and even some things we didn't expect, like ice cubes ready in the freezer, and an ironing board and iron. Would definitely stay here again!

If you like a loud nightclub, this place is not for you . . .

Kathryn & John are very focused on making their guests comfortable. The unit is extra clean, well appointed with furnishings, and exactly as portrayed in the listing. The setting is extra rural. A very quiet place. You can see the stars at night, hear the birds all day, and watch a porcupine climb up a tree out your window. Antigonish is a small town, a 10-minute drive away. But we found everything we needed. The unit is strategically located about 40 minutes from the causeway to Cape Breton Island.

Suite is excellent. Situated right on the water about 15km from Antigonish. Coffee and tea, bottled water, shampoo and conditioner, shower body wash, hair dryer provided. Full kitchen if staying longer with groceries. Owners live on the property and are friendly and kind. Yes, recommend.
