The Little Lake House was a relaxing and quiet get away. The location is beautiful and the property is exactly as it’s named: a modest house that had everything we needed for 2 people. We enjoyed listening to the birds and ducks in the morning, watching the sunrise, hanging by the lake, and having fires at night. The kitchen is nice so we made a lot of our own meals. We were able to drop our kayak and paddle board in using the dock (a little climbing necessary but doable) and paddled around, but the shoreline has a lot of seaweed so it’s not really fit for swimming or floating. There were a lot of cobwebs on the outside surfaces though so we had to do some cleaning to feel comfortable. A couple logistical things about the house: 1) The bedroom is upstairs while the bathroom is downstairs across the house. If you’re someone who uses the bathroom at night, this poses a challenge. There is a pullout couch in the living room though. 2) Most windows have no curtains or blinds. This didn’t really bother us though as the house is tucked away enough that it feels private enough. When we weren’t at the house, we enjoyed visiting Lakeside Park with an old restored lighthouse and some local establishments with good seafood. Overall we enjoyed our time there.
