We had a lovely time staying at this property. The place was clean, cozy, and in great condition. The appliances are all updated, and there’s a nice grill outside. The master bed was comfortable—we slept really well.
The living room was right off the porch, so there’s great light coming in during the day. At night, however, there’s either a really bright overhead light or these neon blue lights, neither of which are relaxing when you’re trying to wind down. The living room couch is more of a decorative couch. If you’re planning on having someone sleep on it, I’d suggest bringing a pad for the top. We didn’t spend too much time indoors and didn’t sleep on the couch, so it didn’t affect us.
The location is pretty good; it’s tucked away just off a main road. The house is not right on the lake—you have to walk a bit to get to the lakefront access, and the public access section is pretty small. But the best part is that it’s right in front of a long bike path that you can take to various neighboring areas, including the Petosky Brewery. Although Oden itself is quiet without many restaurants in a quick radius, Petosky is a short drive away. We loved the location’s close proximity to all the wineries nearby.
The only issue we had all trip was not having the code to unlock the bikes, but Patrick was quick to respond to remedy the issue.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and Patrick was a great host. We would look to book again! Five stars because the very little observations I noted weren’t a huge deal. :)
