Loved the property. I had thought the cottage was isolated, but there was a cottage right beside us. I couldn't tell that in the picture. The cottage was a great base for exploring and the host was very friendly.

Lovely remote cottage on north of Applecross peninsula. Well equipped, warm and comfortable. Great for exploring Applecross and Torridon areas.Host very helpful, and friendly neighbour.Eat out at Applecross Inn, Walled Garden and Kishorn Fish Restaurant.We had typical Scottish weather, refreshing after drought down South!

Well equipped, comfortable cottage in a beautiful area.Pet friendly and heed the warnings regarding ticks.You do need transport to explore the area...2 wheels or 4 (or very fit and sturdy legs!)Loved our stay.

Beautiful hidden cottage, cosy and extremely comfortable. So peaceful and close to scenic walks. The week just went too quickly.

Applecross is awesome!

The cottage is lovely and we wanted a quiet holiday but at the same time to enjoy the geography and history of the area and we were not disappointed

Very cosy and comfortable cottage in beautiful remote location, ideal for resting and mountaineering (gorgeous walks on Munroes near Torridon).

Beautiful Escape

We needed restful solitude and this cottage met our needs perfectly. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and the cottage had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for more and would definitely stay again.

Fabulous cottage and location

We had a wonderful holiday and the cottage was perfect. Extremely well equipped and in such a peaceful location, the surroundings were breathtaking and we hope to return again in the future. Highly recommend!

The property was beautiful. Rustic, no frills, perfect for the highlands. It’s a long way from anywhere so bring all you need. The kitchen has everything to prepare meals. Stay up to look into the sky. The stars are magical. It’s a treasure of a hideaway.

Comfortable, well equipped cottage

The cottage is situated in an outstandingly scenic area with a lovely view as long as the vegetation in front of the cottage is kept low enough to enjoy it. The owner is extremely accommodating to any suggestions that might be made to improve services.

A piece of heaven on Earth

Such a beautiful and delightfully decorated cottage. Such peace and tranquility - ok it's a bit of an adventure to get to - but so worth every mile. And there are pine marten in the area - one visited the garden every day. Perfect.

Lovely cottage PLUS pine martens!!!

A very comfortable, remote cottage, which was spotless. We used it as a base for bird-watching but were DELIGHTED to have 2 different pine martens visit on 4 of the evenings. The cove below it is delightful and we saw common seal, dolphins and great northern diver. Alison, the owner, was very helpful and very prompt in her replies.

A piece of paradise

Lovely property, remote and cosy - just how we like it. Friendly, helpful neighbours too! Cottage was well-equipped and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Make sure you take everything you need as the nearest shop is Applecross 13 miles away and then Lochcarron, a lot further. Photographers heaven.

Lovely comfortable cosy house

Beautiful, quiet house on the road from Shieldag to Applecross, ideally positioned for excursions in that area and beyond. Inside, all modcons you would wish for. On cloudless nights, don't forget to take a good look at the starlit sky, and watch out for the bats. Shops in Shieldag and Applecross quite sufficient.

Peaceful

A lovely cottage, very homely and cosy. The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful. Location is approximately half way between the local centres, Applecross and Shieldaig. Midges were bad here when the wind dropped. I would return at a different time of year!

Peace and Quiet.....just what was needed

Had a lovely weeks stay in the cottage. Beautiful views and absolute peace and quiet, just what we were looking for, certainly a place where you can go and press the re-set button. We were so lucky with the weather too, beautiful sunny days, I suppose that was the inly down side, sun didn't quite reach the front garden to be able to sit outside, but maybe in the summer it is different, and to be honest it didn't spoil our stay. While we were there we even refilled the bird feeders and would enjoy watching them coming and going while we had breakfast. On thr whole we had a great stay.
