The Cottage - Newport Eclectic Charm

This lovely one bedroom, one bath cottage sits within easy walking distance of the Historic Bayfront, and is perfect for a romantic weekend or quiet getaway at the beautiful Oregon Coast!
This adorable cottage sits on the owner's larger property, but has been very thoughtfully designed and furnished to provide a wonderfully private getaway. The lower level has a nicely-appointed kitchen (all the usual appliances, except a counter top toaster oven instead of a traditional full oven), a bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, and a full bath.
The upper loft-style level has a sitting area, writing desk, and queen sleeper sofa, making this cottage ideal for a small family or two couples. There are even two outdoor areas - one ground-level patio and one upstairs balcony - so you can enjoy the fresh coastal air and a peek-a-boo view of Yaquina Bay.
Parking Notes: Off street parking only is permitted in this neighborhood.
Water Access: Beach access is at Don Davis Park or Agate Beach park
No motorhomes. No boats. No trailers. Strictly enforced.

The cottage was adequate. There is a nice large family room upstairs. Not a lot of space for suitcases in the bedroom. It definitely could use a new paint job on the outside of the house which would make it more appealing. It was close to Bay Blvd., the main street in Newport so we were able to easily get to restaurants and shops. However, you have to go down and up a very steep hill to get there which we were able to do.

Dig the decor, bathroom sink is unique to me. Comfy bed. Place is perfect for a couple to enjoy a nice quiet getaway. Beat any hotel we could've stayed at. Would happy to visit again

Lovely Cottage

I had a wonderful stay at this cottage in Newport! It's a great location with most things in town under 10 minutes away. A central location for coastal exploration as well. I love that it has a washer and dryer and the kitchen was easy to use. Would definitely stay again!

Heat Relief

The cottage had all of the amenities one could need for a stay and was large enough for others besides me. It even had a view of the bay and of course the sea lions bellowing. I would definitely stay again and plan on it for 2024.

Wonderful place

The house was very nice. It had everything you needed. It had a wonderful folder with a lot of information what to do there. I really enjoy the folder. I would like to tell family and friends about this place. Maybe we're be back next year.

The bed was comfortable and there was lots of room for the 4 of us. My girls loved their space on the 2nd floor and loved transporting their belongs on the dumbwaiter. We enjoyed the outdoor space and beautiful landscaping in the back of the cottage and spent time soaking up the sunshine and watching the hummingbirds zoom around. The only thing I would add is a comfy chair or two on the main level. We had a nice get away and hope to return again soon. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us! Ps- the binders were amazing with lots of great information.

The downstairs has a large bedroom, beautiful bathroom, and full kitchen/dining area. The upstairs is also spacious and includes a large deck with a fantastic view of the water. The room is perfect for game night or just watching tv and hanging out with friends. Every contact I had with the rental agency was friendly and helpful.

Adorable Little House!

This is our 2nd stay in this home. We stayed the first time about 5 years ago. Its perfect for my husband, our 10 year old and myself. The location is perfect, the home is adorable and the neighborhood is small and quiet. The only reasons for not giving 5 stars is some of the amenities really need some updating. The bed could really use a new bedspread, its the same as it was 5 years ago and I'm not entirely sure it gets washed. The walls and windowsills need cleaning, as well as the cobwebs. Aside from those few things, we will continue to stay here when we make our anual Newport trip!

There is NO fireplace,and just some other concerning things..

That being said..the not so gd:There is no fireplace so do not bring wood,it's an electric heater(2 actually).Very deceiving as its stated there's a fireplace.Secondly,I noticed the bed didn't seem made very well when we first arrived,and kinda wondered about that and then especially MORE when I then found a green sock on the floor at the end of the bed and then it's match on the floor by the far side of it. Had the bed been made and the room cleaned these socks would have easily been seen. I grossed out and changed the sheets! The toilet was absolutely DISGUSTING under the rim. They charge you $35 to clean the bbq? Yet it is FULL of spiderwebs as well as the chairs and tables,not even an inviting space. We could hardly sleep on the main bed and the upstairs one was even worse.Carpet upstairs had stains everywhere,but if you put the furniture back where it was per the renter agreement,you are hiding them..again. For the fact that the owner lives on the same property I wonder if they ACTUALLY even check this place and see the condition.We are charged a "cleaning" fee but in all honesty, I wonder if WE the renters are the ones actually doing the cleaning up?! The owner should take some time and walk thru their rental BEFORE a renter comes and also actually READ these reviews.I can only give it a 3 stars as I feel like if I'm paying for cleaning and I KNOW the last person had as well..shouldn't it BE clean? Clean sheets,toilet(that WAS nasty),an honest description of what your renting as well?

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place itself is very cute. But it was very dirty. The carpet had so many stains, the couch was full of hair, the windows, especially the sliding door had dirt and it started to have mold. It was very hard to open and close them. The only bedroom smelled like dog. The shower curtain have mold. You can see how it’s dusted, they go around any objects that are displayed, but not behind or on the sides. This place has such potential, but I will never stay here again. It really needs some deep cleaning. The location was nice and very quiet.
