Perfect Location

What a great place to vacation. The ocean is directly across the street and the room directly faced to sound. They even had a kayak launch making it so easy to get the kayaks in and out of the water. Facility location was also so close to everything we needed....restaurants, night life places, shopping, etc.

Work Trip to the Beach ;)

We were wrapping up a kitchen installation on the island, and needed a nice, fun, place to stay while working on a beautiful new kitchen! This was just perfect! Thanks for everything!

Small but Mighty

Converted motel room to condo with the amenities needed for a beach trip. The check-in process was seamless and the space is very clean. Has a great walk-in tiled shower! There is no bathroom sink but the kitchen sink is located just outside the bathroom and does not deter from the overall use of the room/bathroom. Beach access is directly across the street. Perfect spot for single or couple.

overpriced compared to other units in the same building

The poor review comes from fact that we paid over $300/night for a place that didn’t have a sink in the bathroom, the vent fans were very dirty, and generally the room was a little disappointing for the price we paid. There are building lights on the wall directly outside of the unit that stay on all night and no curtains to block out the light, so it was very bright when trying to sleep. 1 star for the actual room. We also had family staying at other units in the same building that were less money (I’m talking $100+ less per night) but markedly better quality. When we arrived, the microwave was broken and the shower didn’t drain BUT I will give management credit that they fixed those things immediately upon messaging them. So the 3 star review is primarily because the the location is ideal… directly across from beach access, view of the sound and a great community of people there but I’d highly recommend looking at other properties in the building for a better accommodation at fairer prices.

Hi Allie, Thanks for the feedback. I personally review all reviews so we can learn what guests desire, and to improve the quality of our guests stay. While we do not enjoy receiving a 3 star review they are a part of the business. Guests should take all reviews into consideration. As an example our next guest believed we were worthy of a 5 star review. My wife and I manage the unit and we were the ones who took care of and corrected your concerns in an expeditious manner. You had mentioned that the microwave was not operating, but you forgot to mention that we replaced it with a new microwave immediately once we learned this information. I thank you for alerting us, as we cannot take care of issues unless we know about them. The vent fan could have been corrected if it was a problem, had we been informed when we were on the property or later during your stay, with a quick note. Regarding price, VRBO pricing does change based on availability and location. You elected to stay in a unit that has a view, which does normally cost more than a unit without a view. At Bogue Shores each unit is individually owned and operated, and not many units are available for rent. The units available which are available for rent mostly do not have a view, so this may explain the price disparity as well as the dates chosen by the traveler, which happened to be one of the most popular weekends of the year. Based on market conditions and price points of other properties in the area the pricing was appropriate. Returning guests who have received good reviews are eligible for future discounts. We also manage other properties on the beach, so for future reservations this would also be an opportunity for past guests to stay in another of our properties at a reduced rate. We are glad you enjoyed the wonderful location. We love it and are blessed to be able to share it with others.

Week at the beach

The room was nice, small, just like it says in the listing but it’s really all you need for a stay at a beautiful location. Who wants to be in the room anyway? The beach was not overcrowded which was amazing for such a nice area. The room is centrally located to go out to eat or shop or do local attractions. My only complaints would be the comfiness of the beds, some dishes seemed dirty when we got there, and the dehumidifier would set off an alarm in the middle of the night.

Atlantic Beach vacation

This is not our first stay at this place, we have rented a different unit before and other places within the area. We found the unit to be just as described. It was great for us and will highly recommend for couples. It is small but just the right size for us. We like to cook at least once while at the beach since fresh seafood is available nearby and did twice, didn't have to bring but one oversized pan to cook the fresh fish. Beach access is great and that is why I first looked at it. It is close to many amenities too and that makes it a plus. Other guests and owners were very friendly. I will look at this property next year for availability and will rent it again if possible. THANKS!!!

Great Atlantic Beach getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Great use of space in a well appointed unit. Fantastic location, with direct views of the sound and a quick walk to the beach. And Bogue Shores is a very family friendly location, with a great pool and easy access to anything you want to do in Atlantic Beach. Great experience, highly recommend for any person. couple or small family looking for an affordable yet amenity packed visit to the coast. We will be back!
