Safety Harbor Bird House with Lake View

Imagine dropping back in time to old Florida at its best - oak trees draped in Spanish Moss, Alligator Lake in view, and sunrises & sunsets filling the sky with beautiful pastel skies. Welcome to the Safety Harbor Bird House.

With a view of a scenic, fresh water lake located on the edge of Tampa Bay, the Bird House is perfect for guests who enjoy a natural setting while also being very close to the conveniences and small town amenities that Safety Harbor has to offer.

We call it the "Bird House" because of all the birds that can be spotted on or nearby the property - herons, egrets, ibis, pelicans, hawks, wood storks, parrots, gulls, cormorants, woodpeckers, ospreys, songbirds, and more. It is a unique, sanctuary-like setting and a cabin feel.

Two levels with three bedrooms, two baths and an inviting 32' x 10' covered deck. A sanctuary-like setting with birds and other wildlife. Centrally located in Tampa Bay.
The upper level includes the living room, kitchen/dining area, master bedroom with a king-size bed, a small bedroom with a twin bed, and a shared bathroom with a tub/shower, and the 32' x 10' covered deck with great views of the back yard and the lake.

The lower lever features a living/kitchenette area complete with a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, sink, granite counter tops and cabinets. Yes, a second kitchen!! The living/kitchenette area has double glass doors leading out to a deck area and the back yard. There is also a bedroom with a King size bed and another set of double glass doors to the deck and back yard. The bedroom has a second room in the back, with a twin bed and a barn door to close it off for privacy. Shared bathroom with shower. Utility room with a washer and dryer is also on the lower level.

Very close to Ruth Eckerd Hall performing arts center, and not far from The Sound amphitheatre, Bilheimer Capital Theatre, and Clearwater Beach.

May not be suitable for very young children due to a steep inside staircase from the upper level to the lower level, an outside staircase from the upper deck to the backyard (look at photos - not steep), and a pond in neighbor's unfenced yard. Contact host to discuss further.

From the time we walked in we felt at home. It was pretty and clean and had everything we needed. The view from the back deck was so pretty and was relaxing. The birds and squirls kept us entertained. We hope to go back on our next vacation or just to go visit.

Tampa Vacation

We spent 6 nights in this wonderful, cozy house. Very relaxing to watch the birds and squirrels and we even saw an armadillo, a raccoon and a coyote! You can get to Tampa and Clearwater Beach very quickly, so well located for exploring the area and a Publix is just around the corner. The house is very well equipped with everything you need, many thanks to the owners!

Beautiful relaxing home!

This property was everything we had hoped for. Beautiful location, near great restaurants in Safety Harbor. House was clean, well equipped with everything we needed, communication with host was seamless. Spent hours on the back porch enjoying the birds and breezes! This was just what I needed!

A Hidden Gem

This is the 3rd we’ve stayed here. It a great house, beautiful yard and view to the Bay. Quiet and secluded. Close to downtown Safety Harbor with nice shops, restaurants and bars. Mark and Cynthia are great hosts!

Tranquil get away

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bird House of Safety Harbor. The owners provide a book of information of the town and area and are easy to reach and communicate regularly. The house is the perfect size for our group of 5. It was great having a kitchen/family room on both floors. The owners have towels, chairs and other beach amenities for use which really cut down on packing and made our beach outings more enjoyable. I loved all the extra towels, blankets and pillows for my snuggly crew. The games came in handy during the rainy times. Lastly, the property is perfectly located to offer seclusion, while still within walking distance to Main St.

Mark’s house was lovely! Very clean and spacious. The four of us had more room than we needed and two kitchens! It was a nice walk into Safety Harbor for restaurants and shops. But the best part was watching the many birds in the yard and the osprey flying to and from their nest in a distant tower. Great weekend in Tampa!

Great family vacation spot

Everything was exactly as described in the property listing, very nice secluded location, beautiful property. Check in and put was smooth with great communication with property owners. If we ever come back to the area we will be looking to stay here.

Relaxing Oasis

The owners provide everything you can possibly need in this clean and well maintained Old Florida house. It is in a perfect location down a side road, under Live Oak trees - walkable to Main Street Safety Harbor and a short drive to all of Tampa Bay - a relaxing and special Oasis. We loved our stay!

Wonderful Safety Harbor Experience

This is a gem of a property in the Safety Harbor area. The logistics of the stay were perfect. The property itself is top tier from an upkeep standpoint, while being nestled into the Safety Harbor area with close proximity to both downtown and neighborhood walking. Spectacular deck with a great view of both Alligator Lake and Tampa Bay in the distance. Great birdwatching! Highly recommended. The owners are great and friendly.

Quality, quiet serenity

Everything about this home speaks of quality, from construction of home, furnishings, and everything you might need for your stay. We absolutely Loved the huge deck, where we could watch all birds and wildlife. Amazing simple serenity, located very close to all the chaos you would expect or want. Very relaxing retreat! This pla e was absolutely Spotless! I often end up washing dishes and utensils when i arrive - yes, I am Very picky! But delighted that I could use everything provided right out of the cupboard!

Absolutely loved staying in the Birdhouse in Safety Harbor. Perfect location to see the spots in Clearwater, Luke Combs concert, Dunedin and exploring downtown Safety Harbor. Home truly has everything you need for a perfect trip.

Nature filled getaway

Comfortable, lovely home overlooking a lake and a park-like yard. Birds galore. Owners gracious and responsive. An excellent base for Tampa Bay area adventures, near everything. It exceeded our expectations and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Location!

The Bird House is absolutely beautiful! The location to Safety Harbor is easily in walking distance. The view and back yard are incredible. The house is beautifully decorated and very warm and comfortable. Mark and Cynthia were great to work with. We hope to visit again!

Great Time

House is centralized in the Tampa Bay Area. Easy to get around. The house has beautiful views of the bay. It is off the main roads which makes it quiet and comfortable.

The Birdhouse

My husband, adult granddaughter, and I enjoyed our stay at the Birdhouse in Safety Harbor. We loved sitting on the upper porch watching the birds and other wildlife in the area. We were able to have a couple of meals with our daughter who lives in the area. The dining room table gave us plenty of space. We hope to be able to come back again.

Perfect House and Location
