Welcome to our private hillside home in Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, with breathtaking 360° ocean views over Tamarindo and Playa Grande. It’s an ideal place to relax and make memories with family and friends—close to everything, yet peaceful and surrounded by nature.

Just 5 minutes from downtown Tamarindo, you’ll find great restaurants, activities, and the local skatepark.

This is also a 10+ year-old coastal home, so minor cosmetic imperfections can happen due to humidity and ocean air. The home is professionally cleaned before every arrival, and our local team handles maintenance quickly.

Family Vacation

Location and view were amazing! House was well equipped, very comfortable and had plenty of room. Outdoor space was incredible! Pool, ocean and Mountain View’s and multiple outdoor spaces including a rooftop sun deck made the property spectacular!! Will be coming back!

Very nice house in a great location

Stayed for 11 days with our daughter and another couple. The house was bigger than expected from the photos, with a lot of outdoor space as well. Everything was clean, and it wasn't too hard to manage the critters. (side note: always check your shoes before you put them on!). The view is beautiful, there are monkeys nearby in the mornings, and it is very quiet. It is a short ride into Tamarindo. Restaurants, grocery store, beaches, and gym are all only minutes away. Couldn't ask for much more at all. Manuel was helpful, and quick to respond the few times we needed anything. We saw locals make it up the hill in cars, but definitely opt for an SUV with 4 wheel drive. It is a rough ride.

A nice stay!

I’m not gonna lie, two things before our trip had me concerned about our stay: The owner was not returning any of my or Vrbo’s efforts to connect, and someone had placed a horrible review since I had booked. My concerns were all for naught, the house is beautiful and nicely enough appointed, and my friend had reached out directly to the owner’s phone number and gotten a response. All was as described (other than the hot tub had been removed but it was too hot for a hot tub anyway), and very clean. Air conditioners mostly worked great. Pool, kitchen and outdoor areas were spectacular. There are a few details missing that would make this a 5* stay, but you cannot beat the views and privacy of this home. Things that would have improved the vacation experience: bathroom details like shampoo/conditioner and hairdryer, a notebook describing the home, security system, and neighborhood, more serving ware in kitchen, lights on nightstands, minor repairs like light bulbs out and slow drain.

Inaccurate

This property is not as described. First of all there is a hot tub like is shown in the main photo. Also inside the house, several rooms have wiring hanging out of the wall including in one shower. Not safe at all. The check in is odd and there are no directions for most of the house. I guess we were to just know how to find things like the gate remote. The house also has several doors that are broken and won't close properly. I am not one to leave a reveiw like this but the owner failed to respond to my complaints. The only response to the photos I sent was "Thank you" I would expect a little more response since I actually moved my family to another place due to the experience. Overall very disappointed with this property and more so with the owner.

A wonderful home high above Tamarindo

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful home for 3 weeks and were joined for one week by our son, daughter-in-law, and 2 young grandchildren. The home suited all of us perfectly. It is spacious, has 4 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. There was plenty of storage /closet space, and the kitchen was nicely equipped. There also is a gas grill that we used frequently. Wifi worked well, and we had good cell coverage. AC units are in the bedrooms, kitchen, and living area. The view from the infinity pool was magnificent; we enjoyed wonderful sunsets every night. The house is nicely situated. A great grocery store is 5 minutes away, and the house is close to Tamarindo but not in the city itself as well as close to many great beaches. The manager for the property, Manuel, was always available to answer questions and address in person any "glitches" we encountered. A major problem surfaced with the water pump which resulted in little to no water for several days. While this was inconvenient for us, the owner, Tatiana, immediately jumped on the problem, driving down from San Jose and staying for several days until it was fixed. Tatiana was so gracious and concerned for our well-being. She did everything she could to rectify the situation as quickly as possible and provided us with resources to help us manage until the pump was replaced. You should have a 4 wheel drive vehicle; the road to the house is very steep, full of ruts, and quite rocky. We LOVED our stay and hope to return.

Inaccurate property description

Stayed 7 days during Christmas. Cons: Did not receive check in information until 12 hours before our arrival. I reached out to the host several times concerning check in with no response. Inaccurate description of the property.NO HOT TUB! Daniela said they had forgotten to take that information off the listing. (I booked this place because it had a hot tub which I needed because of my back)No communication with Daniela, owner. She apparently went out of the country during our stay but failed to mention that during our limited conversation. I found this out the morning we were leaving because she was checking in to see when our departure was and that we had to be out of the place by 11am sharp. Only cared to check in the day we were leaving.House has no house number on it, very difficult to locate when coming in at night. (we were told the house is on the top of the hill)Slept on decorative pillows the first 2 nights, no pillow cases. No instructions on how to operate anything in the house, oven, stove top, lights, pool lights. Trash on property when you look over the railing and swimming pool. Couldn't use the stove top or oven on Christmas eve, had to use the grill that only works on high. Every time I reached out to Daniela concerning our issues on VRBO there was no response from anyone. This property is dated, run down and not kept up. Pros: Beautiful views on the patio and pool area but that's about all I can say nice about this place.

Northwest Nicoya peninsula exploration

Very private and close to town and the beach. My family loved the kitchen and the great view. We did a last minute booking and the host was very responsive and worked things out for us. Beautiful property!

Beautiful view

The main attraction of this property is its fantastic location with sweeping views across the forests and coasts, up on a ridge just outside Tamarindo. Access is a bit tricky up a rutted dirt track but it is fine as long as your car has decent clearance. I'd agree with the hosts that a 4WD or at least an SUV is better here - might be tough in the rain. The property is well appointed - decent, well stocked kitchen, superb en-suite master bedroom upstairs with staggering views, but other bedrooms need a bit of attention (more furniture, better blinds, bedside lights didn't work etc) and there are only two bathrooms. Space was fine for four of us (two couples) staying. The sliding doors need some work as they are very fragile and don't close properly. Beautiful, really lovely, patio area by the also beautiful pool with a big palapa with ceiling fans and we spent a lot of our time here. Overall, an extremely pleasant experience.

Beautiful views!

The property was gorgeous, and although initially the road to get there was a beast because of the hill, it soon became super fun. The view of the Pacific ocean was stunning. It was recommended to us to call Chef Leo to cook dinner for us one night, and it was a 5 star experience. He was amazing, personable and FUN!! The only negative of the entire thing was that the dishwasher wasn't working and it smelled terrible with old water in the bottom of it. We could not get the property manager/caretaker to respond to this to take care of, so it was really gross whenever we opened the dishwasher. It was no big deal to wash dishes by hand, but if someone forgot and opened the dishwasher the smell was so foul.

Property was nice . It’s built in the jungle so expect little bugs and such .. overall lovely

The property is built in the jungle… So there were quite a few critters but that’s expected… The host Made every effort and responded to everything that we needed and went out of her way to make us feel welcome…
