Five us of spent a week in June at No. 1 Beesands. We were blessed with sunshine all week. The property is very tastefully decorated and well equipped with everything needed for our stay. The view from the bedroom windows out to the sea is just so wonderful. Also, we spent many hours sat around the kitchen table and on the outside seating just relaxing or enjoying a drink or a meal. Straight outside of the property are benches where you can sit and just watch the world go by. We visited the The Cricket Arms pub/restaurant twice - it's only a few doors down from the property - absolutely delicious food. And on the other side of the property is The Britannia - it's a fish and chip takeaway and fish restaurant. We had a takeaway from there and also ate inside once - highly recommended. You do have to book at both places. The South West Coast Path is on your doorstep - and we did a number of walks from the front door of No. 1 Beesands - to Hallsands (the Lost Village), Start Point Lighthouse, East Prawle, Torcross, Slapton and Strete. The views are absolutely stunning. As long as you don't mind a hill to climb, once at the top you will not be disappointed with the scenery. We also visited Greenway (Agatha Christie's summer house) just near Dartmouth. We took the Greenway Ferry from Dartmouth. Well worth a visit - the views are glorious.
We were so happy we chose Beesands to stay in. With the pub and fish restaurant on our doorstep - we did not have to get in the car in the evening.
Deborah (the owner) was always so helpful anytime I had a question, even while we were there. Do follow the detailed instructions she gives on how to find the cottage as the roads are very narrow to get to Beesands.
Thank you Deborah - we had a wonderful stay.
