Just 2 issues: the lift wasn't working when we got there which was the most important day for it work since carrying all our stuff up to the third floor for Thanksgiving week was a real chore. Tommy was going to have someone come on Monday and take a look at it, but no one showed up all week. On Friday we tried resetting the GFI plug ourselves and that did the trick. Also, suggest that the kitchen faucet screen be replaced as water sprays a bit in the sink from the spigot. A little bit of cleanliness issues with the silverware and pots, but nothing we couldn't take care of ourselves. Other than that, we enjoyed the home layout and features. thanks

Ocean view Hatteras

We loved the house and location! Hot tub and game room a huge bonus. The property needs some updating (pieces of baseboard and tile missing, deck is old and boards are loose) and a full spring cleaning. A charcoal grill was provided and was awful so a gas grill would be a great upgrade! Overall, we did have a great vacation and loved the location. Just needs some tlc!

Overall, the house is great! It could use a deep cleaning, but we enjoyed the pool and hot tub greatly. The location is wonderful!!

Great place

Great sunrises from the decks. The cargo elevator was really great, no carrying everything up all those stairs!! Plenty of room to hang out together at the top level and lower level. Loved the swing!! And the outdoor speakers to listen to music at the pool and hot tub. Great place!!

House was great

Decorated perfectly. The view was outstanding. I loved the pool & hot tub. The kitchen was nice and spacious. I did not like that it was dog friendly. People allowed their dogs to go on the carpet & furniture making the smell gross. I also didn’t like that the thermostat was locked- it was freezing in the house and we couldn’t adjust the heat. I’ll be back - just not to a pet friendly rental.

My family vacation

We had 5 adults and my 7 year old nephew. We loved the house and the pool. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. I would recommend this property.

Great house!

Great house that was well equipt to allow us to enjoy our vaca! Only major disappointment was the upstairs bathroom.. the claw foot tub is beautiful however, the listing reads like there is a shower in their as well... there is a shower wand but no where to hang it.. the shower curtains must all come inside the tub with you and are definitely not intended to get wet.. they just get soaked and then of course want to stick to your body while your trying to shower (eww)... the kitchens only real lack was that of a large stock pot.. think boiling water to make pasta... we improvised and used 2 smaller pans and made it work. Overall its a great house. Super nice hot tub!! The outdoor furniture is also extremely nice and comfortable. Until next time Hatteras! Stay salty!

Quiet and fairly private location

The only negative review I have is there are some rotten deck boards and a loose railing on third floor deck. Ans I want able to enjoy the hot tub until my 5th night because it leaked out everyday and had to be refilled and reheated several times before maintenance finally patched the crack after 3 calls and 4 visits later. I am disappointed as it was spring break and the main reason qe selected this house was it having a hot tub !!

Surf and Sound is by far the best rental company on the islands - very responsive, in fact, the guy showed up to fix the air conditioner the first morning before we even reported it broken!

Two issues

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property except for two issues. First, the hot tub is extremely difficult to get in and out. Secondly, the property advertised a surround sound system that we could not activate. We contacted the agency 5X during the week to help us activate the surround sound. No one ever came to rectify the problem.

Best of Both Worlds

Ocean View Hatteras was the perfect location. Steps away from the ocean and a minute drive to the sound. We enjoyed lounging around the pool and our dog loved watching the cars roll by on Hwy 12. Perfectly peaceful vacation! We will definitely rent again.
