Very Mixed Review - Great location and Amenities, condo needs TLC
We have come down to Myrtle 13 times in last 15 years. Mixed review. First time I was very disappointed when we walked into the condo.
The property location and the amenities are fantastic. Great view of pools and beach from 4th floor balcony. The pools, hot tubs and pool bar are outstanding. Walking right out to beach can not be beat.
As far as concerns, while the condo was generally clean, there were some dirty areas such as refridgerator handles (they were black even tho they and fridge were suppose to be white), coffee pot, mold around bath tub. Many areas did not seem to be wiped down. Considering the exhorbitant amount we were charged for a cleaning fee, the cleanliness di not match my expectations.
The other major item is that the room is very outdated and needs some seriously updating. The carpeting is old and shredded, the closet door to the washer and dryer was busted, the drawer in the guest bedroom was missing and busted, the TV in the second bedroom was broken, the bathtub needed some serious regrouting and looked horrible. Other items such as not having a ceiling fans in bedrooms would be nice. Also the furniture was old and stained.
The location and facility amenities were a 5 rating. The room condition was like a 1.5. It seems like for what we paid that the money went all to the location and not the condition of the condo.

Disappointing condo, worse than expected.
The place smelled badly upon entering. I went thru a bottle of Febreeze during the week trying to override the stench. I knew the Tropical theme & furniture wasn’t up to date when I booked it and I was FINE with that! That wasn’t the issue. I vacuumed the floors upon arrival b/c they did not look clean (mostly carpeted areas throughout). The lighting was terrible! Only one burning bulb in the 4-fluorescent light fixture in the kitchen. I wish I could post a picture of the phone in our bedroom (literally from the 70’s) and it (& the old bedside lamps) were corroded with gunk/filth. Seriously it doesn’t cost much to update a few touches such as these things for cleanliness and modernization. One of the beds in the kids’ bedroom was literally lopsided and leaning where one of my boys had to sleep in the other bed with his sister because of rolling over on top of other person in that bed. We tried to adjust it or see the issue but could not fix it. Sure, we could’ve called the agents and asked for someone to come fix the lights and the bed and change the filthy air conditioner filter —b/c the air was barely able to cool so we removed the filter so that it could survive and function better (my husband does heating and air), but this would’ve meant waiting on a call back and having to hang out at the condo until someone arrived, etc. Just stuff I don’t want to deal with on VACATION! The kitchen had one spatula and no pizza cutter! Other things I needed that it didn’t have that I would expect to be standard in a well stocked unit, but can’t recall right now what they were. Regardless, the unit could use a serious “walk-thru” by the owner/manager to see that it seriously needs some attention to some details and repairs. I loved the location of the condo (4th floor) and the condo units had huge lights that lit up the beach at night (which we loved). This was the most expensive condo I’ve ever had and the worst condo unit that I’ve ever had! The BayWatch units were building a new boardwalk to the beach on our end of the condos (which was badly needed) but it was under construction while we were there. Also, only one wash-off station faucet worked while we were there, creating a huge backup of people when leaving the beach. I also strongly disliked the fact that this unit had an old fashioned lock and keys, so my kid’s couldn’t stay behind and have a key to lock the door… we are used to modern keypads that can use a code for entering.
