Escape to Catalpa Tree House, a charming private second-story retreat tucked inside a 100+ year-old Brown County farmhouse. Located in the quiet village of Helmsburg, this spacious getaway offers its own private outdoor entrance, a relaxing hot tub, beautiful sunset views, and easy access to Nashville just 10 minutes away.

Step onto your private deck and unwind in the hot tub while overlooking Brown County’s tree-covered hills. Sip your morning coffee while watching the birds, catch a colorful sunset in the evening, or simply enjoy the peaceful country setting. You may even spot the Indiana Railroad passing through the village below.

Inside, Catalpa Tree House is bright, comfortable, and full of character. Vintage and upcycled furnishings, local artwork, cozy seating, and thoughtful touches give the space the charm of a historic farmhouse retreat while still providing the comforts you need for a relaxing stay.

This was our second year staying and we enjoyed it just as much as last year. Very nice little tree house, close enough to the town but far enough away to enjoy the quiet. Will definitely be back!

Relaxing and well stocked home base

The Catalpa Treehouse was a great and relaxing place to stay for our visit to the Brown County area. The location was conveniently close to Nashville IN but far enough away as to have the peaceful affect we wanted. We were completely satisfied with all aspects of the accommodations.

Very clean, quaint, quiet, piece of heaven. Never knew the owners were below....it was absolutely wonderful. I really can't stay enough about our stay. It was just what we needed to get away from the stress of everyday life. Thank you for being such great hosts!

Week at Catalpa.

Just what the doctor ordered in COVID-time. Safe and secure so that we could always eat in, with a nicely "stocked" kitchen. The home was decorated very nicely as "farmhouse chic."

Comfortable cottage, hot tub was a little over warm, and the cooling of the cottage was a little weak, but we are used to AK temperatures.

Country relaxation

I stayed by myself for a few days to relax in a country setting and hike while the leaves were beautiful. Catalpa Tree house was just what I wanted nice hosts, clean, hot water, comphy bed, warm and inviting. The hot tub was clean and the jets Worked well. I enjoyed sitting in it while watching birds and squirrels around me Quiet except for noise for a short while one morning from the lumber co next door. I also heard a group of coyotes howling one night which I just loved!

Sucks

Owners are downstairs and complain if you are a little noisy, a/c doesn’t work, and hot tub was 107 degrees. Also they a have an outside camera facing the stair you go up but it’s not disclosed on the listing. Also vrbo wouldn’t let me post my real feelings about this place so beware dealing with them as well
