Charming Pierre de Ronsard Vacation Home between Touraine and Poitou

A restored character home in the stables of the former Ormes gendarmerie, consisting of two cottages separated by a laundry room and another room; each cottage features a separate kitchen and a private terrace, while the garden and heated pool are shared. The larger cottage can accommodate up to 6 people, while the smaller one sleeps 2. The decor is tasteful and inviting, located in the heart of the Loire and Vienne valleys, near Futuroscope and the Beauval Zoo.
Please note that although there is a railroad track near the property, it is used primarily by local shuttle trains and occasionally by a few freight trains.

Absolutely beautiful gite

We stayed here for one week- wish it was longer! The gite, the garden, the pool are all superb. Easy access to Tours,Chinon, Amboise etc. Sylvie and Benoit are wonderful hosts - happy to help with anything. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We all love the property, Benoit was a wonderful host. The house is lovely and everything needed is provided. The garden and pool are really great. We all loved playing the pool. There is a really good Patisserie/Boulangerie across the road. If there were any issue Benoit was right on it and nothing was a problem. I cannot recommend staying here more highly. I am sure we will be back. The surrounding area has loads to explore and we only managed a few visits. Tours was a lovely city. The House is easy to find and the village is only a few minutes from the motorway.

An oasis of picturesque calm

The property is located in the centre of Les Ormes (1 hour south of Tours). There is a boulangerie and small 'tabac' 50 yards up the road and there are larger supermarkets about 10 minutes away. Although the facade of the property backs onto a main road, visitor accommodation is quietly set back around a front and back courtyard (comprising a garden and pool). The property is divided between a smaller 2 person house and a larger three-bed house - with two bathrooms. The latter house is nicely furnished and fitted with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave and a basic conventional oven. The outside deck area (with two tables) offers plenty of scope to have meals and drinks outside plus there is a charcoal BBQ. Overall, there are a lot of positives and the hosts are exceptionally accommodating. The one (possible) negative would be that you need your car to go everywhere. You are just that bit outside the wine and chateau Loire region so any visit means driving - usually an hour north, at least.

Une très bon séjour

Le gîte Pierre de Ronsard est un très beau gîte, le jardin et la piscine sont très agréables. Les hôtes Sylvie et Benoît sont accueillants, sympathiques et disponibles.
