Our Cozy, Quiet, Comfortable place in the Country - 2 Bedroom 900 sq ft w/view

SAFETY INFORMATION: We are a rural rental & there are beehives on the property, over 200 yards from the unit. We have not had bees near the apartment or house, but it is always a possibility that they could approach. If you or anyone in your party is allergic to bees, we recommend that you chose an alternate location to stay. Now back to the fun stuff!

We are located 5 miles north of Lockhart, the BBQ Capital of Texas, 25 miles south of Austin the Live Music Capital of the World and 19 miles from the Circuit of the Ameriacas. There are only 8 houses that can be seen from the apartment, some of them are miles away so you won't feel crowded. The views to the east are up to 15 miles. Things are quiet here with many folks commenting on how noise & stress free it is. There are pastures with horses & cattle around us, something you don't see at most vacation rentals. Being out of town this is also a great place for stargazing. There is a large deck on the East side of the apartment with picnic table & 8 chairs. Charcoal BBQ pit is downstairs.

In these times of the "New Normal" we have stepped up our cleaning & disinfecting procedures as well as keeping the apartment empty for at least 24 hours & generally 48 hours between bookings to do our best for you to have a safe stay.

We completed a total renovation of our apartment in early 2020. Everything inside was replaced.

The apartment is a second floor walk-up with all the amenities you might expect from a vacation rental. Vinyl plank flooring throughout with area rugs in the living area and bedrooms as well as blackout curtains on the bedroom windows. There are ceiling fans in the living room & both bedrooms.

There is ample parking for multiple vehicles, including RVs and trailers & a circular driveway for convenience.

We are located about 7 miles from the Lockhart State Park which has hiking, golf, fishing & lots of nature.

San Marcos Premium Outlet Mall is 29 miles.

A Perfect Home Away from Home

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful property. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. It was spotlessly clean, warmly and thoughtfully decorated and incredibly well-equipped. Every detail was purposefully considered. The host was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, providing local recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. Great Stay

Nice place, a lot nicer than the pictures. Very clean and great views of the horses and cows. Out in the country but still close to town. Thoughtful host with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Just be aware there are stairs to climb but great views make it worth it.

Excellent Quiet Getaway & BBQ Crawl HQ

The apartment was well appointed, clean, comfortable and everything was exactly as described. We enjoyed our stay and chats with the host. It was a great spot away from the busy cities but not too far away for a night out or a day trip to the many BBQ spots within minutes to an hour.

Perfect Place to Experience Wide-Open Texas

Our 3rd year spending a month in this very special apartment with a great view, well maintained and clean. Close to Austin, but the feeling of being on a ranch ... especially for any Yankees who would love the wide-open spaces for a wonderful change. Pat is the best host ... always helpful, but never intrusive. Our month in 2025 is already on the books.

Music festival weekend

This was a return visit for us to Pat’s property, attending a four day music festival near Lockhart. Lazy mornings spent on the scenic deck (what a view! So hard to leave!), cooking light meals in the handy kitchen, relaxing on the couch watching old movies, sleeping soundly in our bedrooms. It was really hard to actually leave our secluded lodging to get to the festival. So tempting just to hang out and enjoy a really nice, comfortable time. Third Stay and Now Feeling Like Family - Fourth Already Booked

Guys BBQ Trip

4 of us dad's went away for a guys weekend to feast on BBQ and unwind. We had a fantastic time, environment was relaxing, house was very clean and well stocked. Lastly, Pat the owner is such a very nice guy!

Outstanding!

My adult son & I both flew to Texas for our first hog hunt, with the goal of making memories. The conclusion was our last evening here at Pat's rental home, and we were not disappointed. What an incredible place, with views that just lower your blood pressure. The attention to detail in the unit is evident, the cleanliness, appointments, and provisions beyond our expectations. If I could rate this unit an 11, I would. Pat, my wife & I are currently discussing a return stay. *Thank you*!

Great place!

We were in town for an event at Rally Ready Rally School. Pat’s place was close to the event and still near town for food, gas, stores. Plenty of parking and easy to access. Reflective mailbox made it easy to find at night. The property is awesome and the apartment is updated, really nice and well thought out. Labels on everything make it easy to find anything you need and Pat was a welcoming host! We had a great stay👍

We moved out of Austin in 1997 when we decided that Austin was simply becoming too busy. We loved it, but the stress of traffic made it not worth staying. We decided that Lockhart was where we wanted to be because it was a lower stress environment while staying close to our friends in Austin.

We built our shop building with the second floor apartment on it starting in 2000, completing in 2005. We used it primarily for friends & family but finally decided that it was time to share our little corner of heaven with others.

We chose this location because it was next door to our son, his wife & our grandsons! What could be better?

We really enjoy being out of the rat race of city living. We are close enough to shopping in Lockhart, Austin & even San Antonio while not having all the noise & traffic that goes with city living.

We have great panoramic views of the area up to about 15 miles.

We are also about 15 miles from the Circuit of the Americas Formula-1 track.

Lockhart is known for its BBQ. We have five world renown BBQ restaurants in town as well as a thriving Farmer's Market & Theatrical theater.
