Sonoma Hillside Retreat | Privacy and Comfort

Escape to this peaceful Sonoma Hillside Retreat on 2+ private acres just 3 miles from Sonoma Plaza. Fully furnished 3BR/2BA home with a chef’s kitchen, high ceilings, and a wrap-around deck overlooking stunning valley views. Relax by the pool, enjoy coffee at sunrise and savor local wine at sunset. Winter rates available through April for extended stays.

Taxes are collected on stays under 30 days and submitted to the County of Sonoma. Transient Occupancy Certificate # 4222N

This 2,200 sq. ft. home sits on over 2 acres in the peaceful eastern hills of Sonoma Valley, just 3 miles from the historic Sonoma Plaza.

The primary suite features a king bed, en-suite bath, and sliding doors that open to a private deck. Two guest bedrooms each have queen beds and share a full hallway bath.

Relax on the wrap-around deck and take in incredible valley views, or unwind by the solar-heated pool (approximately mid-May – September). Enjoy ping pong, cornhole, a gas grill, and plenty of outdoor space for privacy and play.

Setting
Native oaks surround the property, where nature meets modern comfort. Guests enjoy complete privacy indoors and out.

Rental details
Offered as both a hosted short-term stay and a 30 + day executive rental when the owner is away. Winter rates and extended-stay discounts available through April; standard seasonal rates resume in May and beyond.

Taxes are collected on stays under 30 days and remitted to Sonoma County.
Transient Occupancy Certificate No. 4222N.

You may inquire on socials (Rent Sonoma Valley) for longer term contracts. Long term (stays over 30 days) rental is not taxed and is usually discounted by 50% if not more.

Pool Use Rules
•Swim at your own risk. The pool is not fenced.
•Children must never be left unattended near the pool.
•No running in the pool area.
•Absolutely no diving off the rock, the pool is not deep enough.
•No swimming alone.
•No glass in or around the pool.
•No dogs or food in the pool.

We want you to have fun and enjoy your stay — please be safe and respectful of these rules.

Rules for Dog Owners
•A fenced-in area is available off the primary suite.
•Please keep dogs off all furniture.
•Use the extra sheets provided to protect surfaces as a precaution.
•Pets are strictly prohibited from swimming in the pool.

Our home is located in a rural area, and wildlife may be present (deer, turkeys, squirrels, rattlesnakes, etc.).

•Check your pet for fleas and ticks before entering the home.
•We strongly recommend flea/tick prevention as advised by your veterinarian.
•Please use caution when allowing dogs off leash.

Amazing Weekend Away!

We loved our Sonoma getaway! The home itself is filled with warmth, it’s spacious, has beautiful views, and is a lovely respite away from hubbub and noise! We loved the pool, enjoyed a bbq, and family time together in Sonoma.

Perfect get away

The property was great along with the location and many activities including pool, pickleball, ping pong on site. Our family had so much fun we did not want to leave. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Great Stay

We had a great time at this hillside retreat with our family of four. It is nice, private, and quite, and not far from the Sonoma downtown and nearby wineries. The house, the grounds, and the pool are clean and well managed. Checkin and checkout was a breeze and the host looks after the place and her guests very thoughtfully. We would stay here again.

Awesome home to stay in

I spend 3 nights over Fathers Day weekend with my 3 very active adult kids in their 20’s. The house having pickleball, ping pong, corn hole and a pool made the weekend. Super fun time. It is a beautiful backyard and great place to relax. The house itself is beautiful. 12 minute ride from downtown Sonoma and the nearest vineyard. Highly recommend this home.

Wonderful Getaway!

We had a great weeklong getaway from the Bay Area fog. This house is great with all the amenities we needed! The pool and canyon views were just perfect! The mattresses were very comfy. We enjoyed cycling and running and the quick drives to the Plaza for shopping, the farmers markets, and restaurants. Kara was very responsive and helpful! Highly recommend!

Beautiful spot for a family gathering

Kara’s place is beautiful! Situated in the hills with gorgeous views. Better than the pictures. The big kitchen was great for multiple cooks putting together Thanksgiving dinner. We loved congregating on the deck with a glass of wine and played a few rounds of ping pong. Bathrooms are modern and well kept and bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The Bartholomew Estate hike is only 10 mins away, restaurants and groceries are less than 15 mins. Great location! We hope to return!

Beyond expectations...

Perfect! What an absolute gorgeous home and so well appointed. Beautiful setting and that kitchen island!!! The property manager was very professional and communicated with us on every detail. We were there to enjoy the fall colors and now...we will be back this summer! Thanks you for everything!

Secluded hideaway

The house and property is nice. The pool area and view is very pretty. We enjoyed that it had a pickle ball court. The kitchen was great for those that like to cook! It is not far from downtown Sonoma and the wineries all over. In the description, it does say a twin futon in the living room, which we found was not the case. It was a folded up pad in a closet. Not what I considered a futon. Overall, the house was a good place to stay for the weekend.

Idyllic wine country home

Stayed here with my children and husband to celebrate a graduation, spend some family time and enjoy some wine. The house is located a few minutes from Sonoma and close to Napa , but feels like it’s miles from anywhere. Perched at the top of a hill, views of the valley below, deer, birds, quiet, trees- blissful. The house is very beautifully decorated with character- it’s a home, not a sterile ‘vrbo’ vibe. Bathrooms and kitchen are modern and gorgeous, and the rest if the house is lovely. Super comfy beds, spacious rooms, ample towels and supplies. The pool is lovely and there are outdoor toys like cornhole. We really enjoyed it, were comfortable and private, and would stay again in a minute. Lovely!

Amazing Escape & Getaway

This property is AMAZINGLY beautiful. The house is extremely cozy and has everything you could possibly need for any occasion or event! From the interior decor to the amazing mountainous view the property is completely breathtaking.! The minute you turn off the main road to get to the property relaxation sets in. Words alone will not do justice for what all this house has to offer. . The location is 5 mins from town and there is the cutest little coffee/merchandise shop not far from the house but off the main road. Kara is wonderful and was available for any questions or concerns we had! We plan on taking my son next year for his 30th birthday I can only hope this property will be available. This is where I’ll stay anytime I visit Sonoma, Napa or Santa Rosa!

Excellent Getaway Property in Sonoma

We have rented many homes in Sonoma and this one is terrific. We had a group of 6 family friends over the July 4th holiday. We arrived to a well-prepared home with all that we could need in the kitchen, bath and pool areas. Lots of towels, kitchen gadgets & some pool toys. The home is large enough to spread out, and perfect for a weekend or extended vacation. The setting is on a hilltop and is very private. We spent time in the pool & cabana, played ping pong and games, drove to town for wine tasting and bike riding. The effective air conditioning was a bonus for a super hot weekend. The property manager/owner was very responsive on the reservation, and we didn't need a thing while we were there. Thanks, Kara. We'll be back.

Serenity and scenic splendor...

I chose this property for a trip to Sonoma primarily based on the photos of the property surrounding the home...and it far exceeded the beauty and peacefulness depicted in the photos! Such a wonderful and peaceful escape...literally surrounded by the delightful sounds of nature! The house also was perfect. It was scrupulously clean and very comfortable, and had everything that we could want or need for our week-long stay. Kara was such a gracious host...and responded instantly to any questions that I had before and after booking. It is a bit of a trek up the hill to obtain those beautiful views...and we were glad to do it before dark on arrival after a very long drive. But it is sooooo worth it...for the beauty and peace that will welcome you!!! And this is all literally within minutes of the Sonoma Square! We LOVED our time in this beautiful home and slice of nature!

Sonoma Wine Tasting

The property was beautiful, very secluded and every morning there were a family of deer with two babies visiting. It was an easy drive to all the wineries we had scheduled tastings.

Scenic hillside getaway

My husband and I, along with a couple friends had a great time at this hillside Sonoma home. We loved hanging out on the patio and wrapping up our day with a bottle of wine. Great location and floor plan has a great flow.

This was my childhood home. My parents built it in 1975. I remodeled the home in 2018. It is my primary home for most of the year, however I do travel frequently, so I can also offer extended stays. We are excited to share it with you!
