Hono Kai, located in the heart of Maui, offers the perfect setting for embarking on an adventure to explore the island. Its central location provides easy access to a plethora of activities and attractions, making it an ideal starting point for your Maui escapade. After a day of exploration, retreat to the tranquil haven of the third-floor Hono Kai condo, C-9, where you'll find a serene bedroom with a comfortable king bed and convenient amenities such as AC for a restful night's sleep.

The condo also features a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living area with a sofa sleeper, and a dining set, as well as high-speed internet and a flat-screen cable TV for entertainment. Outside, the lanai offers a perfect spot to savor meals while taking in the natural beauty.

The Hono Kai complex itself boasts maintained grounds, a pool with ocean views, barbecue facilities, and convenient on-site laundry. Additionally, the central location allows easy access to nearby attractions such as Sugar Beach, Ma'alaea Village, and the Maui Aquarium.

Lovely Property, Excellent Location

We loved that it is right on the beach & we were able to swim & snorkel where we stayed. The unit is clean & well furnished with everything we needed for an amazing Maui vacation.

great location if u don't mind the wind

location was great. Close to the harbor for snorkeling charter, close to airport, close to gas, food store souvenirs store, in between east and west Maui, close to south Maui for the best beaches, etc

Week in Maui

Our stay was excellent and great if you have a car. The garden view was a bit misleading as it is a row of trees. Also the BBQs are communal by the pool. Regardless we had a wonderful stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I came to Maui to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We wanted something close to the beach, reasonably priced, and it had to have good reviews. This place hit all of those requirements on target and during our stay we first-hand experienced the accommodations of the host. From supplying us with starter items like toiletries, and laundry detergent, to giving clear instructions upon arrival, and being very communicative with us, we wish we had more stars to give. We both said when we come back to Maui we need to stay here again.

The condo in beach front, not the unit. Amenities were not clean around the condo. The apartment is old but decently furnished. Full of rules and the warnings sounds like they are threatening you if you fail to follow them. The place is far from any place. Nothing is walking distante.

Perfect Maui Location

Loved staying at this beautiful rental. Great location between West and South Maui. An easy 15 min from the airport, too. Condo had everything, even bottles of sunscreen that we used. Rent snorkel equipment and chairs nearby at Boss Frog’s. There is a nearby beach on the same road as condo that we walked to a few times. Take the road toward West Maui and stop at the “lighthouse” on left to watch for whales and see the sunset. Bed as comfortable and everything needed in condo. I took one star off for the “secluded garden view” in the name and photo. In reality, you look out on a few scraggly trees that divide this property from the next. But no worries, you aren’t home much. We ate at the pizza place nearby which was yummy. Loved this location! Book it for your next vacation!

Clean and Safe

Apartment was clean and the community was safe. Communication via the app and multiple emails was helpful and the payment process with smooth. I would classify the condo as mid scale not necessarily low or high end. Netflix and Amazon prime were available. The one thing to note is the sliding partition between the bedroom and living room area doesn't block any noise. So if you are planning to watch movies and have children sleeping in the other room, you will need to bring Bluetooth headphones to connect to the TV. Luckily we had some and were able to share.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at this property. It's right on a quiet stretch of beach and out of the more touristy areas. The building was 1970's but the inside of the unit was modern, clean and very comfortable. This was the first time we have booked with VRBO and it was generally a pretty positive experience, The only thing I would recommend is a little more explanation in the welcome packet so that new folks like us know what to do. We thought there would be a reception desk, thankfully the caretakers were able to explain about getting into the lockbox, which was in the welcome packet, but not emphasized for those who are new to the system. Just a thought. Other than that we had a great time and enjoyed the unit thoroughly.

My wife and were so thrilled with our stay! We had everything we needed, located in the perfect place! Close to Kihei, and Lahiana. Shopping and amenities were just a short drive away, and very easy to get around.

Decent but beware

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The water was shut off for 8 hours a day for almost our entire stay. There are signs saying to use the park access to the beach due to erosion on the condo entrance. Just FYI, there’s also a hobo camp at the entrance to the beach off that park. It’s uncomfortable to walk through. And on more than one occurrence, we saw people looking to break into cars with flash lights. The condo itself was clean and nice. Good location on the island otherwise. If safety isn’t a concern for you, stay here.

Good apartment

The apartment and amenities is great. The location is close to Kihei which is nice because of the restaurants and other amenities.
