Upon arrival you will be greeted with a recently remodeled two bedroom and one bath West Virginia getaway. With the entrance of Smoke Hole less than two miles away this is the perfect retreat to see the beauty of West Virginia. If you decide to relax at home there is a fully stocked kitchen for your cooking needs as well as a propane grill. Outside you can enjoy the nice back porch and relax around the fire pit.

Nice location

It's a nice location in the Smokehole area, close to all the adventures in the area. The bathroom is very tiny but overall clean which is what you want for a place to adventure around from.

A great hide away

My husband and I just wanted to get out of state for a long weekend. This was a perfect random stay that we found. Lots of farm animals to look at. The mountains were beautiful. We would stay here again.

Getaway place

It was enjoyable my son liked the water slide in town at the pool was a pretty nice getaway we rode the train at Cass wanting to go back to see Douglas falls didn't care for the science center much wasn't very much there had a pretty good

Great Relaxing Family Get-a-way

Great relaxing family get-a-way. The location was perfect for us to hiking Seneca Rocks, visit Smoke Hole Caverns, fish and swim smoke hole near eagle rocks, and even visited spruce knob on the way home. The place was nice, clean and we took full advantage of the fire pit, the hot tub, and the even the grill. Can't wait to visit again. Thanks

Nice get away

We were seaching forever to find a small cabin or a place to stay for a few days to relax. This place hit the spot. Close to seneca rocks and multiple caverns. After walking and hiking all the hot tub is a nice way to relax. Check in was easy, the cottage is very well kept. The beds are comfortablelove this olace will definitely book again when back in the area

Cozy Cottage

We stayed at HillSide Getaway for a short weekend escape to do some hiking and fishing, and the place was exactly what we needed. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean, and we we really enjoyed the back deck, hot tub, and fire pit. The grill is in good condition. The goats next door were a joy to watch. The house is really close to Smoke Hole if you are looking to fish.

No fault of the property. Expedia issue. We were attending a conference at Canaan Resort. Expedia site said that the property was 17 miles away. The conference was 60 miles away, 1 hour 15-20 minute drive

Uppertract Rental

several things frying pans were burnt up - Air conditioners wouldn't work in main living room and first bedroom, the grill had grease down in the grill part caught small fire on the food we cooked, flyes were really bad too, overall house could use some work - Loved the goats, back deck was nice, did see the kitchen was updated it wasn't a worse time for us it worked out Thank you

Nice place

House was clean. Hot tub and fire pit were great! Only four stars because of the following: 1. Inadequate bedding. No top sheet on one bed. No extra blankets. It was 20 degrees outside and the heaters had trouble keeping up. We were cold due to lack of adequate bedding; and 2. No shampoo or soap in shower. There was a dispenser for each, but it had not been refilled.

Not as pictured

We could tell that it was not like advertised immediately. The gravel "sidewalk" is full of weeds. House has mold on siding; back door that leads to the small deck is gross. We messaged the host immediately as he requested to let him know that we arrived.Inside things seemed OK until we really started looking around. The bathroom has mold on the walls and on the shower doors. There is no blind on the bathroom window and faces the highway.We realized that we had no wifi immediately and reached out to the host but didn't get a response. We waited patiently but after about two hours we reached out to vrbo for support. The host also would not respond to Vrbo. At 2.5 hr he did and said he was flying. He gave wifi details that didn't match what was online or in the house. It worked.We discovered very little water in the hot tub and informed the host. He told us to go to the basement, get a hose and fill it. I asked him to have someone take care of it the following day. He told me "it just needs water." We never heard from him again and it was never fixed. With the amount of mold in the house I was not going to the basement and don't feel that was my responsibility.There is a light that flashes all night long into the bedroom. The neighbor says it flashes in his bedroom too and host won't respond.Beds were clean and comfy. Water was hot. Would not stay again. Vrbo should look closely before this is rented again. My first and maybe last Vrbo. I have pics.

Mountainous WV

Had a wonderful time exploring WV! A beautiful, not too distant, drive from the cabin can lead you to many of the local attractions including Blackwater Falls, Smoke Hole Caverns, Spruce Knob, and Dolly Sod! Lodging was adequate. However, cleaning , in our opinion, could have been better. There were some ant traps inside the cabin, but we did see a number of ants during our stay. WiFi /TV was sporadic. Overall, the country setting was wonderful and the goats were certainly a plus to see throughout our stay!

Peaceful getaway

This house was perfect for our anniversary getaway. We wanted private and peaceful and this was it! House was clean and ready to go at the appointed time. Listing described everything correctly. Good location centrally located to the things we wanted to do in surrounding areas. And the best part...there are GOATS that are in the property adjacent to this one! Feeding them each evening was so much fun. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, peaceful getaway THIS IS IT!

Cute place for a weekend stay

The kids got a kick out of feeding bread to the goats in the back yard. The hot tub was nice for the whole family in the evening. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit as well. Lots of hiking nearby which is what we came for. We had a great time!
