The cabin sits just a few miles from the town of New Castle, set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. With around 3000+/- feet of Creek Frontage on Craig Creek, the cool waters allow for perfect recreation and relaxation. A large deck overlooks the creek and has a nearby large firepit for fun at night. High Speed internet with 50mb speeds for those that still need to be connected. Verizon and US Cellular service at the house.

We really enjoyed our stay. The creek access was very fun, firepit was fully stocked, beds were comfy, and our hosts really went out of their way to help us when our car broke down on the trip. You will be in good hands!

We had a great stay in New Castle. The house is located right of the main road but, it still felt private and secluded. The amenities outside really made this location. Great areas to relax and enjoy nature. There is an adorable coffee shop in town that serves breakfast and lunch. Roanoke is a 40 minute drive from town. I traveled with my elderly father so, we did not hike any of Jefferson National Forests. We are hoping to travel back in when it’s warmer to the joy the property and area more.

Our host was awesome! He made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was just as expected, with that rustic feel (which is what we were looking for). The yard was huge, and had a fire pit, horse shoe area, covered outdoor dining area, canoes and kayaks for use, and wood for the fire pit! The best aspect of the yard, in my opinion, was the small deck by the creek. It was situated next to a small spring, so you had that “babbling book esthetic. I LOVED SPENDING TIME THERE!!!The house also had beautiful woodwork throughout (made by our host) and nice “touches” to make it even cozier. It was such a great experience. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

Beautiful property with so much to do! This placed was so relaxing. The pictures just don't do it justice! The waterfall into the creek was such a surprise. This will definitely become a place we'd like to visit again.

Creek House, New Castle,VA

We chose this place because online it looked unique, clean, on large property with creek frontage, It surpassed our expectations. The house has so many extra touches, including fresh cut flowers from the garden in a vase upon our arrival. Craigs Creek is larger than I expected. I have lived places that this would be called a small river and it is lovely. The property provided canoes and kayaks with paddles and life jackets. We checked in on Friday and Checked out on Sunday. We plan to return when we can and will stay longer. Highly recommend this as an upscale rustic retreat.

Hidden gem

We did a long weekend getaway to celebrate our son’s high school graduation and could not be more pleased with Sonny’s cabin. The kitchen is fully stocked and super clean. The beds are memory foam and comfortable. The cabin is full of sweet, personalized touches. We did kayaking (Graig Creek has class 2 and 3 rapids) hiked McAfee Knob, had fire pit nights and the kids caped out by the creek.Thank you Sonny! We will certainly be back!

College graduation stay

Booked this property for my parents, my husband and I to stay for an extended period for graduations at both Roanoke College and Virginia Tech. This also allowed for my college aged daughters/ graduates to come visit and sleepover when they could! The property was absolutely amazing-a beautiful home in the woods with a spectacular creek, fire pit, plenty of outdoor space to enjoy friends. The inside of the home was immaculate and so charming! Sonny is an attentive, responsive owner of the property and willing to make your stay so special! I would absolutely recommend this property 100%!! I might not have children still in college here and would definitely come back! Thank you!

Perfect snowy getaway

The house is exactly as advertised and more. Great location. Awesome host. Highly recommend. And we will be back in the summer to kayak the creek.

Beautiful cabin, incredible area

This cabin is amazing and has everything you could want for any season. The owners have done a great job keeping the cozy feel of a rustic cabin, but with all the modern amenities. The small town of New Castle is just down the road and has a surprising amount of food and supply options. The area is perfect for anyone wanting to explore in the woods. Both long treks and short hikes are right around the corner. And if you are looking to just take it easy, the fire pit, creek deck or huge covered outdoor area are all perfect. Could not have asked for a better place to get away with my little family.

Loved the secluded area close to the creek. Enjoyed the firepit on the chilly evenings. Loved the morning sunrises coming over the hill too. The Cabin was super cozy and full of options for enjoying the great outdoors

Great home base for hiking MacAfee Knob and Dragon’s Tooth.

Perfect spot to enjoy the Jefferson National Forest. About a 45 min to downtown Roanoke. Peaceful, comfortable and charming cabin.

Autumn Weekend

We met our eldest and his family for a long weekend in New Castle, VA. The cabin was in a beautiful setting along a creek very near Jefferson National Forest. It was clean and well equipped; beds were comfortable. We enjoyed outdoor activities - canoeing, fishing, hiking - indoor games, and nearby restaurants. Our host was attentive, informative and responsive.. Definitely recommend.

Country Cabin

The character of the property and the helpfulness of host Sonny made this stay as great as we could expect. We stayed just days after Hurricane Helene hit the mountains and as such the area had no power on the first day. Sonny reached out immediately to let us know the situation and helped provide flashlights and water. Fortunately the power came on the next day and we were able to enjoy the wonderful property and home. Very quaint and rustic.

Peaceful Rest

This cabin was the perfect place to end our vacation at. The adults could sit on the deck and watch the kids splash in the creek below, then a nice fire pit in the evening for marshmallows. The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfy! Stocked with anything you could possibly need. Sonny was incredibly nice and helpful, and he made sure we had everything we needed plus some. We will be back!!

A mountain paradise

We decided at the last minute to take a little family vacation and booked this cabin with Sonny. It was exactly what we needed, and exactly how it was described. We knew we made the right decision as soon as we turned into the driveway. The house is stocked with everything you could need, the fire pit was amazing, and the little waterfall into the river was beautiful. There was a little farmers market in town that we lived. Swinging Bridge restaurant is a must for dinner. The drive there helps you realize how far up into the mountain you are. Drive slow, the turns are sharp and the cliffs are high. We had an amazing weekend and would absolutely come back!! Thank you Sonny!!
