Great location

Close to good swimming beach and amenities. Comfortable space with good sized rooms. Unfortunately gas hot water system needs attention as only luke warm water. Shower floods floor. Be aware, toiletries and extra towels weren't provided. Fridge worked well but small and only an ice box (no freezer). There is a laundry tub but no washing machine, a small TV but no internet. Limited mobile coverage for SparK only but full coverage at the beach 200m away. Take plenty of insect spray because the mosquitos are active.

Exploring Great Barrier!

It was great and really fun. House is in great location next to fantastic beach’s. Lots of sun and easy walk to store and Irish bar! Would recommend staying here!

Not that impressed

The house wasnt very clean and we struggled having any hot water, we were only able to shower on the Sat night, we had to boil the kettle to do the dishes and to wash for the rest of the stay. Also the house was cold, the trees need to be trimmed to let the sun in. The duvet covers were dirty and the shower stunk of urine

Good basic accommodation. Clean and tidy. Directions should say second driveway on the left after Onemwa Lane - got confused by "third house on the left"!

Property was great, well maintained and comfortable.

Property was great, well maintained and comfortable. Driveway was a little difficult due to a big dip at roadside but ok for larger vehicles. Stovetop may need looking at as only the two right hand side gas hobs work as well as they should. Otherwise, we had a great time.

We've stayed in many NZ cottages over the years and this was the most disappointing.

We've stayed in many NZ cottages over the years and this was the most disappointing. Presentation was poor and the owners clearly need better guidance on quality control. Car access was difficult over a gully filled with broken timber; the garden and balcony areas were poorly equipped and lacked adequate shade; and the carpets were soiled. For $200 a night we expect to receive a reasonable level of presentation as well as a good location.

The location of the house is great.

The location of the house is great. But...it needs work. The bathroom is GROSS, water goes all over the floor, and its unsafe. Insect screens would be great and flyspray provided. the Gas stove is lethal, only ever light the elements with the dial on low! There was a BBQ out the back but not sure if it was available to use. The outdoor plastic chairs stain your clothes white so don't sit on them. No sugar in the cupboard so we left some! Towels were smelly, they need a hot wash or replaced...

Great location with easy walk to the beach and tryphena. Bach had good space for all. Perhaps modern when built but not so much now. Bathroom was not very pleasant to be in. Wish we had brought more towels etc as one hand towel, 2 tea towels and one towel per person was not enough for an 8 night stay. Kitchen had minimum equipment to cook with. Come prepared for mosquitos. Wish we were pre warned to bring repellent, plug in room dispensers etc as we got eaten! Hope this helps others.
