We had such a wonderful stay! From the hosts attention to details and communication and the farm tour with their boys to our visit to the Albatross Colony it was spectacular! We’d stay again in a heartbeat!

Catch up with whanau

Ngaire was incredibly accomodating with our one week stay. She provided absolutley everything we needed to feed, bath and entertain a toddler. When we arrived my boy was straight into the toys laid out for him. The farm tour was a higlight for him with goats, chicken and deer.The place was beautiful and peaceful a welcome retreat from our busy days. The sunrise and sunsets were stunning. Great location to access Dunedin city and mosgiel. Kitchenette with microwave,jug and bbq. Other cooking items such as cooking pans and pots on request. We will defintely look to stay here again on our next visit. Thank you Ngaire and family.The setting is beautifully peacefusp

Great Location

Clean, comfortable and private. Lots of welcoming touches. Location was surprisingly great...minutes to town and we had no problem exploring the peninsula from here. Also, the goats outside our door were a delight

Beautifully Appointed Home, limited kitchen

The owner is on site, so was very responsive to needs. Everything needed was provided, and the owner left lots of information about things to see and do in the area and places to eat. The mini bar concept in a vrbo was a little confusing to us, so we did not use any of the food items except hot beverages (which seemed to be a standard offering in NZ vrbos). The bedroom and bathroom were both fantastic but, if you're more than a couple, be aware that the extra bed is at one end of the common area and the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom door.

Farm stay review

My sister and I immensely enjoyed our stay. We found our accommodation very clean, warm and tidy with comfortable beds, little road noise, no annoying street lights and woke to beautiful bird song in the morning. Our hosts were very friendly, helpful and we enjoyed our farm tour with goats, deer and hens. Thankyou for such an enjoyable experience.

Absolute gem

The part of Wingatui I grew upnin has been consumed by property developers now, but Height of Dunedin gave me the dawn chorus of birds and Little Owls calling at night that I remember from childhood. The visitor friendly farm animals were fun, especially the goats ... so much personality. Ngaire made us welcome with some lovely personalised touches, accomodated extra family staying over and the place was warm and cosy in some pretty wild weather. Loved our stay there. Thank you so much.

Homely country get away just outside Dunedin. Quite and private with goats and chickens to keep you entertained.

Great cottage.

We loved the cottage, one of the best we have stayed in. The owners had thought of everything we could possibly need. The cottage was very warm, clean and in a great location, just 5 minutes from town but in a lovely rural setting. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Cottage in Dunedin

This cottage is in a fabulous rural location but only a 5 minute drive into town the cottage is beautifully presented with lots of welcoming touches,fruit chocolate and a welcome message private and cosy immaculately kept i would stay here again and recommend it to all. I will be staying here on my next visit to Dunedin

The cottage itself is lovely in the farmlike surrounds and would be a fatastic place to stay in the summer. however the heatpump struggled to keep up with the intense dunedin cold! Single glassed windows leaked badly and we had to leave the heatpump on 24hrs to keep the place reasonably warm.. The beds were comfy and good quality.

We were a little worried that the property would be too far out of town, and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually quite close to Dunedin and the CBD, and was easy and quick to get to by car. The accommodation was ample for our family of four, and we really appreciated the kitchen setup and supplies, and the wonderful bottle of milk.

We are a young couple with 2 boys. We own a lifestyle property with the additional cottage that is well-appointed for guest privacy 20 plus metres away from our home.

During the weekends and summer evenings we enjoy working outside on our mini-farm, with our animals, our ever-growing lawn and never ending need for firewood.

- 15-minutes to Forsyth Barr Stadium.
- 25-minutes to Dunedin Airport.
- Local’s secret: 9-minutes drive to a short bush walk to a cascading waterfall by day and a magical glow worm wonderland after dark.
- Spend a day on the Otago Peninsula exploring Larnach Castle, lunching at Glenfalloch Gardens and immersing yourself in the ‘Wildlife Capital of New Zealand’ at Taiaroa Head and the Albatross Colony.
- On a rainy day Toitu Otago Settlers and Otago Museums are sure to keep young and old interested.
- Take a scenic drive to Port Chalmers and walk Aramoana Mole to view sunning sea lions. Stop at Carey’s Bay Hotel for a famous seafood platter.
- Make a day trip north to Victorian Oamaru and spot yellow-eyed penguins in nature or book to see the little blue penguins toddle home at dusk.
