We have just returned from a 2 week stay and wanted to share our wonderful experience. Our hosts Daniel & Jean-Pierre were most friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The house was huge, beautifully presented and a lovely example of an old French property - lovingly restored and very well equipped. The gardens and pool were also well kept and we loved saying hello to Tina each day. The property is peacefully located in a lovely village just a short drive from facilities in nearby Surgeres and well placed for trips out to La Rochelle, Rochefort and the wider area including Bordeaux (around 1.5 hours by car). Thoroughly recommended for a peaceful stay in a typically French village. Thanks gentlemen - it was lovely!

Fabulous house, great area

We loved our stay here - house is spacious and we all had a bedroom - a family with 3 generations staying. The garden is lovely, great to play, sit, enjoy. The pool is lovely, though too cold for me to get in, but the kids did and enjoyed it. That would be my only criticism - a heated pool would be nice! Close to a supermarket - only 5 mins in the car, Surgeres, close by, is a lovely little town to explore and also has a train station to get to La Rochelle, Paris, etc! Highly recommended.

Absolutely stunning and very clean property! Daniel and Jean-Pierre made us so welcome and literally opened their home and all its contents to us and we were welcome to use what we needed. It was so much more spacious than the photos and you have to visit to really appreciate the beauty and the grounds. The pool was spotless and there was ample seating indoors and outdoors for our family of 9. Good location for the airport and local train station and a bakery with fresh pastries just a half hour walk from the villa. Nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything and two kitchens gave ample storage with two fridges and plenty of food storage cupboards. We absolutely hope to return! Thank you Daniel and Jean-Pierre (and Tina the dog!)
