** Brand new luxury bathroom plus laundry installed in the 2021/2022 off season! **

The Blue Whale (circa 1872) is centrally located just one block from the beach and is less than a 10-minute walk to Cape May’s Washington Street Mall. The amazing location makes enjoying the beach, grabbing a morning cup of coffee, or dining at one of Cape May’s restaurants all that more enjoyable of an experience. With a private rear deck that has amazing ocean views, you’ll love sipping cocktails or dining with family just outside the comfort of your living room.

Condo #3 is the third-floor unit of the Blue Whale. Enter from the main front common entrance or from your private entrance at the back of the property. The Blue Whale was recently refreshed in the off season and boasts new paint and recessed lighting. The condo has a full kitchen that is open to the living area. When you’re not enjoying being out and about in Cape May or enjoying the outside weather from your large private deck with ocean views, the living room has a 65” TV with Hulu, Hulu Live, Netflix and a blazing fast mesh Wi-Fi.

There are 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The master and second bedroom have queen-sized beds as well as 42” TVs. The smaller third bedroom has twin bunk beds. The mattresses are encased in protective coverings, and guests are required to bring blankets, bedding, and linens.

the location of this property is terrific! Walkable to many things and close to the beach. It's on the small side and the third floor is a hike, but we knew that going in.

The check in was very easy. Our host emailed the entry codes and that was it. Just that easy! The house was clean, and welcoming. Everything was just as it was pictured. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cozy place in amazing location

Our first time in Cape May was amazing. You can see the water from the back porch and the place is a block from the water. It had everything we needed. Loved our stay.

First stay in Cape May

What a wonderful first time in Cape May! Great time, great location- highly recommend The Blue Whale. If you are staying off season- bring a few blankets. The house was fully stocked and all of our needs were met. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Stay

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Whale. The host was easy to communicate with and fixed a few minor issues immediately. Some furniture (couch, kitchen tables, big screen tv) updates have been made so it is even better than the images show. The location can't be beat especially when you are lugging all of the beach equipment that comes with a toddler! It met all of our needs and I can't wait to go back to Cape May!

pleasant stay

We had a pleasant stay at the blue whale. Short walk to the beach and a short drive to Washington mall and excellent restaurants. The wrap around porch had comfortable seating and a porch swing. Perfect for relaxing after a day of sight seeing. Only drawback was finding parking. We had to park more than a block away a few times. All in all, a great vacation.

Beach Views at The Blue Whale

My husband and I stayed with our 4 kids in condo 3 at The Blue Whale in August. It has a private deck with ocean views and is so close to the beach...less than a block away! It was clean, had comfy beds, and the Internet was perfect (this was important to us because we had to work from home a few days). The stores and restaurants are all in walking distance, and the beach is so close...a must with little kids! We will definitely book again soon!

Blue Whale - perfect location

I traveled to Cape May with 3 friends. Found Blue Whale on VRBO and fell in love! Perfect location - close to Washington outdoor Mall and beach, etc. all within walking distance. We stayed on third floor, so climb was exhausting, but we knew this going in so we just took our time. We used Linen Ladies for sheets, towels, pillows and blankets and I highly recommend them!

Property location is great for walking around to major areas of town. The unit is on the third floor so prepare for several sets of stairs. Patio was enjoyed the most with a view of the water! The kitchen was slightly unorganized and cookware was scattered. Only a few forks available. Unfortunately the fridge stopped working and by the end of our stay our food was spoiled. We have tried getting in touch with host and Hopefully this can be resolved.

Amazing location, great view of the ocean, awesome upgrades

I stayed at the Blue Whale 2 years ago and rebooked again this year when we decided to make a return trip to Cape May. The upgraded bathroom is super luxurious and the laundry addition is a huge plus. I wasn't aware of those 2 upgrades when we booked, so that was a huge plus. The location is perfect with everything walkable. Plus, the view of the ocean from the private back deck is perfect. After staying at a few different locations in Cape May, for being one of the more reasonably priced places to stay, this one deserves more than 5 stars.

Plenty of room for 3

My husband, sister and I stayed at this property for a long weekend. It was adequate for what we needed and had everything we could expect. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessities. The sofa/bed was not comfortable for watching TV. We liked the location. The property owner/manager was very helpful and gave us all the information prior to arriving. It was a positive experience.

Short walk to beach and restaurants

Stayed at this property many times this time was 3 bed top floor everything a family would need on a trip , and a short walk to beach ,bars and restaurants . Really you park and don’t have to drive anywhere it’s all walkable. Every year it seems there are upgrades new modern bath , portch etc etc Note top floor lotta steps but it is the third floor so you know it going in , host responds to questions promptly and is very accommodating would always look to stay here in cape may

Will 100% be staying here again!

This place was perfect. It’s on the 3rd floor which is a hike with all of our stuff and stuff for a toddler. But there’s private access in the back which was really really nice. Clean property and had everything we needed. It’s a block from the beach and we were able to go out and walk to the beach every morning. Also a nice feature is the stairs to the front of the condo had a gate which was awesome because of our baby. Andy was super easy to get ahold of and was really accommodating. We will 100% look to book this same place again.

Blue Whale 3rd Floor

My wife and I enjoyed 3 nights at the 3rd floor space of the Blue Whale. We arrived to a very clean, already air conditioned 3 bedroom apartment. We(I) had some initial issues with the lock feature to the upstairs apartment, but Andy (the owner) was very helpful in setting us straight. The location was perfect, only a block and a half from the beach, and was centrally located to make for an easy walk to almost any of the Cape May restaurants and nightlife. We’d recommend this place to anyone, and hope to come back either late summer or early fall. Also, very reasonably priced. Kris and Jamie

Overall, the location and experience was just fine. Per requested, we brought our own sheets and pillow cases already skeptical about the integrity of the beds. Sure enough, 1 of us in the pink room walked away with BED BUGS! If there was a space in this to upload a photo, i would be happy to send the photo of my friends side. We have all had bed bugs before when traveled over seas so we are familiar to the experience. Again, i thought the host communicated well and was accommodating towards our needs, however, really need to investigate the beds !

Hi Stephen - Thanks for staying with us. Just as a follow-up, we had a licensed professional come out to thoroughly test the property, and they found no evidence of bed bugs anywhere. Additionally, we are required by the City of Cape May to have yearly preventative exterminations to maintain our guest house licenses. All beds are covered with a vinyl protective cover for added protection. Likewise, bringing your own linens is very typical in Cape May. We're a family of 6 with 4 young children - and we frequently stay here and have never had any issues. Thanks again for staying with us.

First time to Cape May

Great first time in Cape May. Property listing should reference use of outdoor shower & hose which is a plus for after beach cleanup. Minimal pots/pans made it challenging to cook. Need just a few more pots & pans for the kitchen. Bathroom is impressive and the space was very clean, just enough space for our family of 4. Walking distance to everything, mini golf around the corner and Harry’s Grill just a 5 minute walk down Beach Ave. We hope to come back again soon!

Perfect location, reasonable price.

The location was perfect for those who wanted to go to the beach and perfect for those who wanted to go shopping. There were several nice restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was cute with a nice ocean view from the deck. Even when we were inside, we could hear the ocean. The accommodations suited our needs In the place was clean. Thank you.

Great Location - Convenient to everything!

Historic Cape May Victorian in an ideal location! Such easy access at checkin and Andy is a great host. It’s a 3rd floor unit, as noted, so be prepared for move in and out. Shower is a little tight if you have bigger people, but the unit is clean, gives everyone their own space, and has an ocean view from your back deck. Cannot beat the location - right near convention center, shopping, and Washington. Would definitely rent again! Thanks, Andy, for a great stay!

This was a great location and space for 4 people.

Great location, easy walking distance to everything. In the pics there was a small table in one of the bedrooms that was not actually there. We had some people trying to virtually work for a few hours and not having the table caused some space issues. However, everything else was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Everything was within walking distance. Place was clean and quiet. Wonderful! and price was right

To the owner, smoke alarm went off twice in the bunk room on the first night. Don't know why. Also, toaster worked the first morning but not the second. Thank you for everything. It was a great place and check in so easy.
