2:00 p.m. late checkout! Furnished and roomy, 1800-sq-ft single-family Dutch Colonial. Driveway parking for two cars. Central air conditioning. 5G high-speed WiFi. Pet friendly. Half-mile walk to Lake Park and bluffs of Lake Michigan. Newly refurbished hardwood floors; vintage kitchen with all new appliances including dishwasher. Shower over claw foot tub. Two of three bedrooms are spacious with great light and ceiling fans; the third is cozier. All have high-end, plush Verlo Queen beds made in Wisconsin. All window blinds have both blackout and sheer options. Portable crib and toddler bed are available. In-home laundry. Relatively open floor plan for a 110-year-old home, with 9-foot beamed ceilings and spacious living room. Old-world charm and modern amenities in the highly desirable Historic Downer Avenue District. 1.5-block walk to restaurants, grocery store, Downer Landmark Theatre, salons, CVS and more. Also within easy walking distance to North Avenue: Oriental Theatre, Landmark Lanes, Beans & Barley, Ma Fischer's, Von Trier and other such cherished and long-standing Milwaukee gems.

The neighborhood is a delight. House just right!

We loved the house and slept well in a quiet neighborhood. The house had everything you need including some welcome goodies that made the stay even better! Quiet neighborhood but so accessible to so much nearby retail. Sendik's was our daily stop for groceries. We picked up Limes one day and rode everywhere.

In town for a wedding.

Great home. Easy to relax. Close to wedding venue, and great neighborhood. House was well equiped and welcoming. We had everything we needed to prepare simple quick meals with a wonderful small grocery nearby. I would definitely want to return if i return to Milwaukee.

Convenient, Homey, Clean!

We came to town for a wedding during and very busy time of Milwaukee festivals. The house is on a quiet neighborhood street walking distance to coffe and shops. Driving to downtown is easy and you feel like you are in your home. So many touches to make you feel comfortable. We loved it!

Family visit

House is in active walkable Milwaukee neighborhood. Lots of shops, restaurants, park, and beach. We did not get in our vehicle the four days we were there. Very roomy home. Bed was as comfortable as they come. Diane is the best as far as making sure all is okay with your stay. Kitchen was very workable. Could not have asked for more and we have stayed at many rentals.

Charming home in Milwaukee

We were here for a work conference and stayed in this home with 4 other adults and an infant. Diane had everything we needed— extra towels, soaps, coffee, etc. She would respond quickly if we had questions and the check-in/out process was a breeze. We loved the location— near the beach and great restaurants. Not too far of a drive down into the city either. The one shower was a little tough with 6 adults, but what can you expect from a 100+ year old home? It was charming and spacious otherwise. Milwaukee is a great place to visit!

Perfect get-away

This is a wonderful home! Great location within walking or driving distance to many Milwaukee parks, restaurants, stores, etc. The house is welcoming and spacious in a great neighborhood. Diane was a very responsive host and attentive to our needs and requests. We are looking forward to a return visit already!

Gorgeous older home in excellent location!

My family and I stayed for a little over 2 months at this beautiful residence in a very vibrant neighborhood. Walking distance to many restaurants and to the lake, it was the ideal spot for a summer stay. Diane was helpful, responsive, and flexible with the many different layers of our stay, and did her best to make sure we were settled in and comfortable. The home is older, and as a native of the area I know what that can entail in terms of ongoing maintenance, and Diane explained everything clearly which greatly facilitated our stay. There were a couple of plumbing issues but as soon as we communicated them to her she took action, and went above and beyond with smaller things too. Highly recommend this space for families with children of any age!

As we set up this rental property, we have added a fully new central air conditioning unit, new washer, new dryer, and new upstairs plumbing to match the new kitchen appliances. You are right - these older homes do require attention and investment! We would love to see you again.
