With a blend of original 1930s charm and modern comforts, it’s the perfect retreat for families and groups of up to 8 guests. Original hardwood floors, art deco touches, and updated furnishings create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The spacious open-plan living area is perfect for gathering, while the cozy wood fireplace (available in winter) adds a touch of comfort.

This is a charming property close to the centre of Castlemaine, which makes it very handy to shops and cafes. We found it to be clean with a well-appointed, modern kitchen and large, comfortable and family-friendly open dining / living area. We especially liked the fireplace which added warmth and atmosphere in the chilly winter evenings. We'd definitely stay here again.

Goldfield Retreat was extremely comfotable, spacious and well appointed. Just a stones throw from the centre of town it was very convenient, no car required to shops or amenities. The beautiful garden made the house feel even more homely. Castlemaine is a really pretty town, we loved our time there.

Great house, great location

The house was really well presented and clean.Our host was helpful and friendly with prompt notices and replies.Check in/out really easy, and it’s a short walk into the Main Street.Highly recommend.

Host provided quick and clear replies to any questions.Amenities supplied were of a good quality and quite extensive. All rooms including the bathroom were spacious especially the large kitchen lounge area which was separated from the bedrooms.

A wonderful home where we enjoyed a delightful short stay. Beautiful place located very close to city centre. Huge kitchen , dining family space and very , very comfortable beds. Definitely good value. We were sorry we couldnt use the fireplace as our stay was late May - the weather was definitely cool enough. The recerse cycle AC and doble glazng ensured we were very snug , nevertheless.
