Monkeys often come visit our guests, hanging off the branches in the trees surrounding the house. Ostional beach is a surfers paradise, and a protected turtle refuge open to guests to take tours to enjoy the arribadas. For your enjoyment, Nosara features an expansive brown sand beach, surfing for all levels in warm, 85-degree ocean waters, world-renowned yoga in majestic shalas, organic food markets, and a plethora of restaurants serving everything from freshly caught seafood to mouth-watering fruit smoothie bowls.

Although Ostional and Nosara are neighbouring beach towns, Ostional is far enough away to experience the true energy and culture of the Guanacaste “blue zone” in absolute serenity and privacy.

Ostional Villa II is a gorgeous new two-storey, 3-bedroom, 2 bath, detached villa, surrounded by jungle, on its own 1/2 hectare of private land.

The living area is surrounded by two walls of floor-to-ceiling windows with views out to ocean and jungle. On the ocean side, the windows slide easily to one end, completely transforming the indoor living area into outdoor living.

For eating, there is island seating, as well as a dining table for outdoor or indoor dining. The warm temperatures and ocean breeze make outdoor eating an absolute pleasure, even at night. The most bug-sensitive family can sit out for hours in comfort, undisturbed. For that, we can thank the dragonflies that come out each day.

There is sleeping for 8, with two principal bedrooms, each with its own king bed. The third bedroom sleeps 4, with a queen bed and bunk beds. The bathrooms are designed with the toilets separate from the sink and shower so that as many as six people can access the facilities at one time. The shower areas have both a rain shower and a phone shower and are large enough to serve as a changing area, with plenty of hooks for clothing and towels.

The experience within the principal bedrooms is like no other. From the comfort of your luxurious king bed, made with local handcrafted teak wood, you can experience breathtaking views of the jungle treetops and ocean when you awake, and a skyful of stars in the evening through the 14-foot-high windows. Alternatively, take advantage of the balcony off each bedroom, positioned for incredible views.

Although the climate is naturally comfortable with the ocean breezes and shade, you may want to cool down in the infinity pool as the sun sets. Use the inflatables provided, lie down in the shallow platform area, swim lengths, or just plop on a lounge chair and catch some rays while sipping your favourite beverage. The pool is a perfect design for both parents and children to safely enjoy the water.

The villa has been designed by two chiropractors devoted to healthy living. You can control the temperature and humidity with a push of a button in each room, or open the windows, specifically positioned for natural air flow. Although the water is naturally clean well water, we’ve taken it a step further with a reverse osmosis drinking water system. Enjoy instant pure water from the drinking tap or cool down with the water awaiting your arrival in 5 glass one-litre bottles.

About the Area:

Ostional Villa II captures the true essence of the Guanacaste coast, uniquely positioned with the rare combination of distance and elevation from the ocean. Visitors can hear the rhythmic soothing sounds of the ocean while watching the rolling whitecaps 300 metres away.

The hill top property benefits from a steady ocean breeze and consistently warm temperatures year-round, ranging from 31 to 35 degrees Celsius daytime, and 20 to 22 degrees Celsius at night. It is located in a half hectare of jungle, home to impressive native and protected Guanacaste trees, plenty of birds like hummingbirds and parakeets, colourful butterflies, and a family of 14 monkeys. It is completely private, and visible to no one except the monkeys that are often hanging out right outside the windows.

After a short 7-minute walk through our safe, gated, La Perla community, you can enjoy a beach walk surrounded by nature, often completely on your own.

The town of Ostional:

The coastal town of Ostional is a gem with its rich history and worldwide reputation. At each new moon cycle, thousands of female Olive Ridley Sea Turtles (Lepidochelys kempii) come ashore to lay up to a hundred eggs in a self-dug nest deep in the beach sand. About fifty days later the baby turtles hatch, climb out of the sand, and race to the ocean. As a result of this important natural wonder called the Arribada, which means “the arrival”, Ostional and its waterfront are strictly protected from development, leaving it pure and untouched.

Ostional has developed a reputation as a premier surf beach by seasoned surfers. It has a convenience store with basic necessities and produce, three sit down restaurants, two traditional take out windows, and a well-maintained soccer field, all within a ten-minute beach walk from the villa.

Ostional is also close to San Juanillo, a popular swimming and snorkelling beach. Families can visit for the day, BBQ, and swim as the setting sun casts an array of beautiful colours across the sky. During low tide there are crystal clear saltwater tide pools to explore.

Transportation:

Ostional Villa II is located off Road 160 that connects all the beach towns along Guanacaste.

The closest airport is in Liberia, a 2-to-2.5-hour drive away. You can either rent a car at the airport, or have the shuttle take you to Nosara and rent a car there. Alternatively, you can rent a side-by-side or quad (4-wheeler). In Nosara, people drive dirt bikes, electric bikes, quads, Tuk Tuks, side-by-sides (mulas), and traditional vehicles.
