Loved this place. Beautiful location, convenient to Tallahassee but secluded enough for a comfortable country setting. Highly recommend.

This cottage was described as a romantic couples weekend getaway, and that description could not have been farther from the truth. It should’ve been described as a men’s fishing cottage as it was vintage, but not chic. For this price, this cottage was not updated in many years. The lack of cleanliness was what really sent it over the edge. The refrigerator was disgusting and upon opening a cupboard to get a glass, I found a bag of sugar where a mouse had got into it and left droppings. We did enjoy the view from the back porch when the wasps were not flying in and out of the ceiling fan and the outlet. Although the manager was very accommodating to our schedule and let us check in early and stay an hour later I still would not advise renting this place unless you are a group of men who just want to use it as a fishing camp because that’s what it really is.

We’re sorry to hear certain aspects of the cottage did not meet your expectations. The homeowners have followed up with the cleaning team regarding the refrigerator, open food item, and outdoor wasp concerns to help ensure these items are addressed for future guests. Lake Talquin is known for its natural setting and popular fishing opportunities, and the cottage offers a relaxed, rustic lakeside experience that many guests enjoy. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts as we continue working to improve the guest experience.
