Charming Mountain Cottage close to Cashiers, Highlands and Lake Glenville, NC

This tastefully decorated two bedroom, two bathroom cabin is tucked into the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

You’ll find the peace and quiet you’ve been searching for. Far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s just twenty minutes from Cashiers and thirty minutes from Highlands.

The gently sloping yard is perfect for playing games or just sitting out under the stars. There is a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and a wide deck for relaxing and enjoying the mountain air.

Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The master bedroom suite and second bedroom have a cozy queen-sized bed in each bedroom. Both bathrooms feature his and hers sinks and custom stone tile showers. There is also a fold out couch in the living room.

The gorgeous kitchen has beautiful granite countertops and is stocked with basic supplies and utensils, including a coffee maker, toaster and a microwave. Be sure to check out the Farmer’s Market in Cashiers or Dusty Rhode’s Meat Market in Highlands for the freshest vegetables and finest steaks!

There is a flat screen TV including Netflix in the well-appointed living room and free Wi-Fi. Please understand, due to the remote location, the Wi-Fi signal is not very strong. To optimize your Wi-Fi usage, it is recommended to use only one or two devices at a time.

Enjoy everything Highlands and Cashiers has to offer with both gourmet and family style restaurants, award-winning spas, diverse boutique shops and well-appointed groceries. Disappear day after day for countless hiking adventures on trails with scenic overlooks and waterfalls in the area. If that's not your style, then take a swim and sit back on sandy beach by pristine Lake Glenville. Lake Glenville is the highest alpine lake East of Rockies in the oldest mountains on Earth.

14 minutes (6 miles) to Lake Glenville beach
20 minutes (9 miles) to Cashiers
30 minutes (13 miles) to Highlands
40 minutes (20 miles) to Sylva/Cullowhee, NC.

There are two parking spaces available. Guests will enjoy contactless check-in after 4 PM with a provided keypad code. All high-touch and high-traffic areas are thoroughly disinfected after each guest. The owner will be available via phone or email.

Wonderful mountain experience

We spent a week here, the cottage was thoughtfully stocked to anticipate your needs. Kitchen was plenty big for 2+ people to work in, lots of small appliances & cookware. Both bathrooms had double sinks & granite tops with abundance of toiletries & towels You never felt like you were in a strangers home, Olga kept in touch & we were within an hour, at most, to waterfall circuits, charming towns to visit, antiquing & eatery options. It was just we had hoped toiletries, towels

Summer Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The dirt roads were well maintained and the Cabin had wonderful views. It was relatively close to everything conveniently situated between Highlands and Cashiers. We enjoyed the mountain towns, waterfall hikes and getting away from the city life. Relaxing enjoyable time in our favorite mountains.

Great stay at the mountain cottage

The cottage is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. We appreciated the nice touches, like a welcome pack of snacks and waters. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the mountain cottage, sitting on the porch with our coffee in the morning. The area is really beautiful.

Relaxation!

We had such a wonderful time at this adorable cottage! We had plans for every day of our visit, but ended up spending three days just sitting on the wonderful porch relaxing and grilling a delicious steak we got from Highlands. Olga was a perfect host. The cottage is so well stocked-even a great selection of spices which was very much appreciated. The bed is very comfortable. We would definitely stay at this cost cottage again

Cosy and quiet

This cosy 2/2 cottage tucked into the woods well off any main roads provided all the basics for our holiday get away. Owner was quick to respond when needed. Master bedroom was generously spacious with a nicely updated en suite. Overall we were comfortable. I recommend the owner make some improvements: remove the dingy and worn throws over the living room furniture, update kitchen appliances, improve lamps and side tables, provide full bottles of soap products to each guest, ensure kitchen products are well stocked. We stayed for 10 nights, and having to deal with empty and nearly empty dribs and drabs made us feel like the house hadn't been properly prepared for us. The lack of a welcome basket was noticable.

Sweet retreat

The property was just as described. It had everything plus what you could need for a quiet, relaxing visit to the mountains. Our host was so easy to communicate with and made sure everything was pleasant. We Highly recommend. It was a sweet family visit in such a cozy and beautiful location.

Beautiful cottage, magical experience.

Our stay here was beyond words. My partner and I took our first trip together, to help my friend move into Western Carolina, and we made a weekend out of it. We had chosen this place not really knowing what to expect, but I am so glad we did. The pantries were stocked, there was abundant silverware and china, the bathrooms even had toiletries already in them! We decided to share the love, and leave some things behind for the next guests to enjoy, so I hope that continues. My one complaint, the Wi-Fi was quite slow, to where we could basically only receive text messages, which is to be expected in this location. Make sure your maps, music, and movies are downloaded before you get here, as cellular reception is sparse in the mountains. Overall, this trip was a truly magical experience, and I would gladly visit again. Thank you Olga for the opportunity and the hospitality’

Relaxing getaway

We loved our stay at Olga’s immaculate property. I spent hours on the porch relaxing in the cooler mountain air and “listening” to the quiet. I highly recommend this property, and I hope to stay again. We were 20 minutes from Cashiers along beautiful drives.

Relaxing

The cabin itself was very clean and well appointed. My only complaint was how small and dark the living room was, but fortunately we spent most of the time on the covered porch. Otherwise, the bedrooms and bathrooms were great, and so was the kitchen. My front-wheel drive car really struggled on the steep driveway, so we ended up parking at the bottom of the property. The property is in a quiet area, but the view was mainly trees and the red roof cabin in front of it. All in all it was very relaxing and not too far from Cashiers and some great hiking.

Waterfall chasing weekend trip

This property was a perfect base camp to complete hikes in Sapphire, Cashiers and Highlands. It also was close to both Highlands and Cashiers which were the cutest towns. I wish we had more time to explore Highlands downtown. The cottage was perfect, extremely clean and i loved the decor and style of the house. Olga had everything you need. The beds were comfortable and there was a regular coffee maker. It was nice to sit on the balcony and drink coffee in the morning. The gravel drive is a little steep, a low riding car would have difficulty getting up he drive way. I recommend this cottage 100%.

Get Away from Everything

This was the most peaceful little nook on the mountain. Quiet and peaceful describes it best when you want to get away from the noise and hustle of the world. Didn’t have to leave the for anything. Ms. Olga’s place was supplied with everything needed and more!

Great spot for a getaway!

This comfortable and well-appointed house is close to Cullowhee, Cashiers, and Highlands. The owner is great! She checked in with us after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. It was cold when we were there so we didn't venture out but it looked like a nice place to walk. The house was toasty warm. We were glad for my daughter's SUV, though. My car would have dragged on the driveway.

Enchanting Cottage
