Island View Retreat boasts spectacular views of Canyon Lake and offers the perfect spot for a weekend getaway, change in scenery for virtual schooling, or a family vacation! The massive covered deck (approx 900 sq ft) is ideal for a bar-b-que lunch while watching the boats soar across the water or enjoying a morning coffee while watching the deer in the yard. This 3 bedroom/2 bath house has the first bedroom with a queen bed and pack n play; 2nd bedroom with a bunk bed (twin on top, full on bottom, and full pull-out trundle); third bedroom with a full bed and full pull-out trundle. The open concept living room, dining, and kitchen is a perfect place for family or friends to gather.

Local activities (within 30 minutes) include the Canyon Lake Gorge, Dam, and marina as well as fishing and tubing down the Guadalupe river, shopping in Gruene, horseback riding, Schlitterbahn, or visiting the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Also happy to share our favorite restaurants and swimming areas. Welcome to paradise!

Golf cart is $50/day.

Great stay!

Place was actually better than it appeared on the pics. We all loved the place as it exceeded our expectations. The host allowed us to check in early which was very nice and always kept in touch with our needs. I highly recommend this place!

Company retreat

We had our corporate management retreat here and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We were able to rent a boat and fishing guide one morning, which was a lot of fun. The golf cart was perfect for going back and forth to the water. The wi-fi was excellent and they had everything we needed!

Best Short Notice Trip!

We had the best time staying at Sandy’s lake house! This was a last minute trip booked to evacuate from hurricane laura after our vacation plans got canceled. The view is incredible and everything was clean. Canyon Lake is one of the prettiest lakes I have been on. We had so much fun as a family at this house! There was plenty of room for all of us and we really enjoyed feeding the deer too.

Amazing views

Our family has visited Canyon Lake 3 weeks since June and have stayed three different places. This one was a favorite for sure. The homeowners went the extra mile leaving fresh flowers and wine. We are a family of 6 and we’re doing virtual school during our last stay the Internet worked perfectly. Beds were very comfortable. The deer were a favorite to come home to each day after being on the lake. But the best part is the patio and view! We did not want to go home and will definitely be back.

LAKE VIEWS ARE THE BEST

We were greeted by friendly deer when we arrived to this beautiful home. Corn was available to feed them and some ate out of our hands! The views are absolutely amazing, pictures don’t even fully capture it’s beauty. The home was spotless, with everything you need. It was super close to the neighborhood boat ramp, and within driving distance to boat/water sport rentals. After spending the day in the lake we grilled dinner on the massive deck and made s’mores from the fireplace also on the deck. We had my 16 and 18 year old and a couple of their friends with us and the floor plan was perfect for this. They basically had their own little private area with lake views, a living room, bedrooms and bathroom with PLENTY of space, while my husband and I had the main floor with living area, kitchen, master, and the deck where the whole family would gather for meals and games. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks for the amazing experience!

Breathtaking views and super comfortable house!

This was our first time to go to Canyon Lake and we are hooked! This home is even better than in the pictures and the wall of windows looking out to the lake is incredible. We had a group of 10 and we ate every meal outdoors as we couldn’t get enough of the view and the large patio table was perfect for lengthy conversation. I loved the open floor plan and the two living rooms. The teens and kids hung out in their area and the adults had the top floor living and kitchen and balcony. The beds were so comfortable that I even asked the owner where she bought the pillows! I forgot to bring mine and that is something we usually find lacking when we rent houses. This one was perfect. The kids loved feeding and naming the deer in the yard. Thank you for providing the deer corn! What a cute touch. We also rented the golf cart and a jetski and a pontoon boat from the owners. That completed our lake experience! We will definitely stay here again! Thank you to Delyn and Sandy for all of your help with lake area advice. The binder was great and had all of the answers we needed. (Once I thought to check there first!) The owners were very responsive and patient as I asked many questions about things that were pictured or explained right there in the welcome binder. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home!

Weekend event.

My family and I were in town for a wedding and this place was great. The property was clean, stocked with plenty of blankets, extra pillows, games, and kitchen had everything you would need. Place had an amazing view of the lake.

Canyon Lake

Beautiful home and lots of open space. Fantastic view of Canyon Lake. The patio/deck is a wonderful space, though it was a bit cold to enjoy most days. More than enough space for our group of 5 with 3 cars. Location is great as we wanted to (and did) explore Austin, San Antonio and San Marcos as well as a wedding in Dripping Springs. A couple of minor issues: propane grill and beeping smoke detector. Host was VERY responsive! Thank you!

Absolutely stunning views of the lake.

We enjoyed the lake house so much!! The views were incredible and feeding the deer was such a special experience for us. The kids loved having their own livingroom to hang out in. Our host, Sandy, was very friendly and quick to help me with questions about the area. I would absolutely recommend this property to everyone. We just loved it here!

Great place!!

Love this property!

This was our second stay at this beautiful home and we had another great trip! The outdoor space and the view can’t be beat. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and everyone’s friendly. The host is also wonderful - she’s very responsive and attentive. Can’t say enough great things. We’ll be back!

Fantastic New Year's Eve Getaway

What a memorable night. This property was perfect for our New Year's Eve celebration. Being able to view the lake like we did was breathtaking. We had plenty of room for comfort and the fireplace on the giant third floor balcony was perfect while watching fireworks on the lake. Also, the kids were lucky enough to feed deer right from their hands. This trip couldn't have been more perfect. We will be booking this property again very soon.

Fun with golf buddies

My buddies and I came here to play golf. We played 3 courses in 3 days and had a wonderful time. We came back to the house each night to BBQ on the large deck and enjoy the amazing view of canyon lake. So relaxing! The house is comfortable and roomy. We highly recommend this place!

Epic Weekend Away Overlooking Canyon Lake

This immaculate lakehouse was perfect for our girls’ weekend getaway. ALL the amenities, lake access, and even an incredible boat for use. Couldn’t have asked for nicer accommodations on Canyon Lake- and the view is incredible!

Scott and Sandy moved to Canyon Lake from Houston in 2012 after visiting and falling in love with the Hill Country, and Canyon Lake specifically. The clear blue water and limestone bottom make the lake unlike any other in Texas. In 2018, they joined with Scott’s sister and her family to build our first vacation home, the House with an Island View. We hope you love it as much as we do!
